Loot Crab Slot Review

Crabs are shady. 🦀There, I said it. Why? You can’t trust someone who doesn’t even walk straight. While every other creature on Earth figured out “forward” was the way to go, crabs were like, “Nah, sideways feels right.”

Instead, these guys are out there looking as if they’re stuck in a game of Frogger. 🐸Tell me I’m wrong!

Combine that attitude with those freakishly twitchy eyes and grabby claws, and you've got a creature that looks like it's constantly up to something. Nope! They do taste great though, I’ll give them that. 🥡

Loot Crab slot by Iron Dog gives you a chance to channel your favorite Deadliest Catch captain. You don’t even have to dress for the nasty weather on the Alaskan coast. 🌊Just spin the reels, catch some crabs, and turn that haul into cash.

Gameplay

The Deadliest Catch is a great show and this feels like a nod to the show. Two rugged fishing boats called “South Easter” and “Santa Maria” are out on the wide open sea, trying to catch some crab. In the far distance, you can spot a lighthouse.

There are rocks and coral visible towards the bottom of the sea, adding to the deep-sea fishing vibe.

In terms of symbols, the highest-paying ones are a smiling shark, a treasure chest, a crab trap, an anchor, and an old boot.

Located in the top right corner is the button for the Buy Bonus. More on that later.

To the left of the 6-reels, 4-rows grid are Jackpots: the Mini pays 25x, the Minor pays 250x, and the Major pays 2,500x.

The game is built on the following stats: 4,096 paylines, a 95% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
, a very high volatility rate, and a 10,000x max multiplier. Iron Dog Studio has offered up a $200,000 max win.

Only fiat currency is accepted when playing this game.

Features

BONUS COLLECT

Landing 3 or more Scatters will trigger the Bonus Collect feature.

  • 3 Scatters = 2 Respins
  • 4 Scatters = 3 Respins
  • 5 Scatters = 5 Respins
  • 6 Scatters = 8 Respins

During the feature, only Cash symbols (crabs and Jackpots) are in play, and you are guaranteed one Collector symbol on every spin.

The Crab symbol is the Cash symbol and comes with a value ranging from 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x, 3.5x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 250x, to 2,500x.

Special Collector Symbol

When crabs land on the reels, they’re collected by the fishing boats. This can randomly trigger a Special Collector symbol, which is tossed into the water from the boat. It then collects all values on the screen, including Jackpots.

Special Collector symbols can appear once per reel, and only on reels 1 and 6.

BUY BONUS

Clicking the Buy Bonus will set you up with two options:

  • Trigger the Bonus round with 3 Scatters - 50x
  • Trigger the Bonus round with a random amount of Scatters - 75x

Performance

The water was calm and the fishing was perfect. The game worked flawlessly.

Max Win

To win the $200,000 max win, you’ll need to bet the full $20 and tie it to the 10,000x max multiplier. If smaller bets are more your style, you can go as low as $0.10.

Conclusion

The collection of crabs is a fun little twist and perhaps even another subtle nod to the tv-show, but hardly a groundbreaking feature.

I do wonder why Iron Dog went with a lower number of re-spins instead of plain old Free Spins. To be honest, it’s even similar to a Hold and WinThis feature plays out on a new screen. Typically, you get 3 re-spins (which could be re-triggered), and the triggering symbols usually stick to the position on which they land. Your objective is to land as many symbols as possible on the grid (you could land blank tiles, too)., except for the fact that the symbols don’t stay, and the count doesn’t reset.

Both the Crab multiplier and Buy Bonus prizes are decent, so there's no reason you shouldn't be able to make some money on this fishing trip.

Hey, would you like to see a lobster, wearing a Hawaiian-shirt? Cool, just swing by Lobster Bob's Crazy Lobster Shack slot by Pragmatic Play. This guy has clearly never heard of crustaceans before… Well, you get the point. I especially think you’ll love the Free Spins.
