Lord Merlin and the Lady of the Lake Slot Review
Lord Merlin and the Lady of the Lake’s backdrop reminds me of The Lady of Shallot - the famous Pre-Raphaelite painter John William Waterhouse in 1888. I have a particular affiliation with this painting, as my Great Grandmother was one of Waterhouse’s muses. A very mystical woman with the famous red locks, who is still an icon to many to this day. I’ve been told even when alive, she appeared to float rather than walk. There’s a real mysterious edge to this woman who we always used to feel her haunted presence everywhere, and many people think they are the reincarnation of her.
Yeah right!
I know this game is actually based on the story of King Arthur’s magician Merlin, who fell in love with Lady of the Lake, but it definitely has the same Pre-Raphaelite ambiance. I wonder though if Play'n Go realized the tragic symbolism in this painting, including the candles, the chain, and the fallen leaf. I just got a shiver down my spine. Let’s hope this eerie game isn’t jinxed or haunted… Let’s find out.
Gameplay
Lord Merlin and the Lady of the Lake is a 5x3 reel, 10 payline video slot powered by Play’n GO. The symbols ascending in value order are Q, J, 10, A, K, Lion Crest, Merlin’s Hat, Merlin’s Staff, Merlin, who is worth x10,000.
Controls are at the bottom of the reel. From left to right, you have Coins, Gamble, Collect, Bet, Pay, and finally AutoPay. Underneath these, you have Balance, Bet, and Win.
Features
The game is all about the expanding symbols you achieve from free spins. Wild scatters can land, which activate the Excalibur Spins. During the free spins, the scatter transforms into a wild scatter. Substituting for all symbols 2, 3, 4, or 5 wild scatters will pay 1, 10, 100 or 1000 x your stake.
Unique features
2 or more wild scatters give you the Excalibur Spins. You can win an unlimited amount of extra Excalibur Spins.
Performance
Available on any device, its high volatility and backdrops surpassed my expectations.
Max coin
The maximum coin win is x10,000.
Conclusion
Glasses smashed, cold air blew in, and the lights flickered; I certainly won’t be playing this alone in the dark, that’s for sure. But once I got a grip, and over my phobia of magicians and ghosts, I really enjoyed being swept away into the magic of Lord Merlin and the elusive Lady of the Lake.
