Mafia Gold Slot Review
As I get older, I realize that my roles are changing. I’ve transitioned from the devil-may-care youngster to – dare I say it? – a responsible adult. How did that happen? 😱
Unlike me, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, and Joe Pesci were able to play the roles of much younger men in The Irishman 🎥 thanks to the incredible technology from Industrial Light and Magic.
The groundbreaking company used a new capture system to tweak the shape of their faces without resorting to animation. 👦👴
I love me a good mafioso film, so I’m as “keen as mustard” – as the British would say – to get my hands on Mafia Gold slot from Play'n Go. 🎰
Gameplay
The five leading Mafia families battled it out for supremacy during the Forties and Fifties for their share of the moolah and power. And that’s our objective today: we need to outwit our opponents to claim the ultimate prize – which in this case is $240,000.
We’re starting as a rookie in the organization, and we need to climb up the ranks. Along the way, we’ll hope to score the 6,000x max multiplier as we play across 30 paylines. This is a risky business (in other words, the volatility rate is high) so keep your wits about you.
As for the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate., that’s 96.20%, and you’ll need to play with fiat currency or Bitcoin.
You’ll notice that the main area has 5 reels, plus there’s an extra Feature Reel to the far right which performs different functions in the base game and Free Spins round.
The Wild symbol is a revolver and 5 of them pay 10x your bet. Wilds substitute for all symbols other than Scatters.
Features
FEATURE REEL:
Base Game: Land Mafia Gold symbols on the feature reel with multiplier values of 2x to 10x, to multiply all line wins.
Free Spins: Bullets, used to eliminate rival gang members, can land on the feature reel. There’s more detail in the Free Spins feature so you might want to skip to that section real quick.
Safes: All cash values that land on the Feature Reel will land up in a safe. The cumulative amount will be paid out at the end of the Free Spins round.
DRIVE-BY WILDS:
This feature triggers randomly in the base game and the upshot is that 3 to 8 Wilds will land on random positions.
MYSTERY INSTANT WIN:
If you land Scatters on the reels but not enough to initiate the Free Spins round, you may still be able to score a Mystery Instant Win, which is the value of the money in the safe (more on this in a sec).
FREE SPINS:
Hitting 3, 4, or 5 Scatters awards 10, 15, or 20 spins.
When you line up a Mafia Gold symbol with bullets on the Feature Reel, bullets will be fired at rival gang members (you’ll see these tough guys displayed above the reels). You’ll need 10 bullets to eliminate one gangster.
The gang members who have been snuffed out will be replaced by the highest-paying symbol.
Cash Hit Trigger: Once a gang member has been rubbed out, that’s when the Cash Hit feature comes into play, awarding 5 additional spins.
Cash Hit Subfeature: Lining up Mafia Gold symbols with safes on the Feature Reel results in you winning the contents of the safe.
Performance
The only thing to watch out for while playing Mafia Gold slot is that the game times out quickly if you don’t pay it attention.
Maximum Win
The betting range is broad, starting at $0.10 and ending at $40. The max multiplier is 6,000x, and the game’s potential payout is $240,000.
Conclusion
I like games with extra reels, as they add to the anticipation and give players a visual reference. Play’n GO has crafted the features in accordance with the game’s theme, so it’s wonderfully consistent and creates a tight and well-thought-out package.
Shooting rival gang members in the face is perhaps a bit hectic, but it’s nothing compared to what Nolimit City gets up to.
Collecting bullets and nailing the other gangsters is a tough thing to achieve, as is stuffing the bank safe with loot. You’ll really have to work at it if you want to grab a share of the nearly quarter of a million on offer. And that’s especially true as there’s no Buy Bonus available.
Mobster-themed games are pretty rare, which is sad considering that they lend themselves well to storytelling and sweet features. Mafia Gold slot is challenging and a joy to behold.
