Mega Duck Hunt Slot Review
In 1992 a large cargo ship lost a shipping container while at sea in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. 🚢 As a result, 28,800 bath toys were swept out of the container.
Yellow ducks, blue turtles, green frogs, and red beaver toys (all designed to never be removed from a tub) have since been floating on the surface of the ocean. 🐸 These toys have reached shores in Alaska and Australia, some even got frozen into Arctic ice.
Funnily enough, scientists actually mapped the movement of ocean currents using the locations where these bath toys washed ashore. So the countless numbers of runaway bath toys, which could have easily gone unnoticed, ultimately helped with scientific research. 😂
The ducks in Mega Duck Hunt slot by Evoplay won't get to float away nearly as peacefully.
Gameplay
Set against a beautiful autumn lakeside at sunset, an old hunter peers through binoculars over the 5x3 grid with 10 paylines.
The Hound symbol brings the most value at 200x for 5-of-a-kind, and is the only symbol that pays for 2-of-a-kind. Next up, the Compass pays 100x, the Pipe and Hat pay 50x each, while the Duck settles for 20x. On the lower end, the A, K, Q, J, and 10 all pay the same 10x.
Don't look for the Wild in the base game, since it only shows up in Free Spins, replacing every symbol but the Scatter and paying 200x for 5-of-a-kind.
A quick look at the stats shows the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. sits at 95.98%, and the volatility is medium/high. The max multiplier is 10,000x and the max win is $300,000.
Features
FREE SPINS
Land 3, 4, or 5 Scatters and the hunt kicks off with 10, 15, or 20 Free Spins, respectively. Every 4th Wild symbol that lands adds 10 more Free Spins, queued up to play once the current batch is done.
Every extra batch plays with a bigger Hunting multiplier, starting at 2x for the batch earned by the first 4 Wilds, then 3x for the next 4, and 10x for the third 4, which is as many extra batches as you'll get.
If you hit the 10,000x max multiplier during the round, it ends on the spot, with the win paid out and any leftover Free Spins forfeited.
Hunting
Once Free Spins start, Duck symbols carry random values, from 2x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, or 50x all the way up to a whopping 2,000x.
The hunt needs a Wild symbol to work. When 1 or more Duck symbols land with at least 1 Wild, each Wild collects every Duck value on the reels.
Whistle
Sometimes a spin with a Wild on it comes up empty, with no Duck symbols to collect and no win. That's when the Whistle kicks in, turning 3 to 6 regular symbols into Duck symbols.
BUY BONUS
The Buy Bonus sends you straight into Free Spins, with 10, 15, or 20 spins priced at 50x, 92x, and 140x, respectively.
Performance
Across a long session, Mega Duck Hunt slot didn't miss a single shot, and the reels, the Buy Bonus menu, and the rules screens all answered right away.
Maximum Win
Bag the max win of $300,000 by landing the max multiplier of 10,000x on a $30 top bet. The smallest bet the game accepts is $0.20.
Conclusion
The slot's lake looks calm, but the real money comes from Free Spins, since that's the one place the Wild exists, and the Wild is the only thing that collects Duck values.
The max multiplier most likely needs a Free Spins round that runs long, with the 4th, 8th, and 12th Wild each adding 10 spins and the last batch playing at the 10x Hunting multiplier.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. suits shorter sessions, so plan on a quick trip to the lake rather than a weekend camping out. I'm also happy with the risk and reward, since medium/high volatility rarely comes with a max multiplier this big.
By my math, the 10-spin buy is the cheapest per spin, so it's the one to take. The 15-spin and 20-spin buys charge more for every spin they add, so I'd skip both.
Big-bankroll players who don't mind the whole game riding on one Free Spins round suit the slot, while cautious low-bet players hoping for steady base-game wins should pass.
