Mighty Crown Legacy of Mars Slot Review
A couple of months ago, I decided to rewatch the original Total Recall. 🍿 You know, the one starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, with humans living on Mars and mutants running around.
Back in the day, it was considered a hit, so I figured why not. Man, was I in for a surprise! The graphics, the acting, the “special” effects — all terrible. Even the infamous three-breasted woman wasn’t quite as exciting as I remembered as a teenage boy. 🫣
It’s meant to be a sci-fi action movie, but this time it felt more like an accidental comedy. 👎
VoltEnt just dropped Mighty Crown Legacy of Mars slot, and honestly, I can almost guarantee it’s more entertaining than watching Arnold wrestle mutants in low-budget Martian cosplay. 👽
Gameplay
Here’s a beautifully designed intergalactic setting, and the overall level of graphics is high end. Based on the color scheme, you’d think this space station is on Mars, but judging by how close those planets are, I don’t think NASA would agree. Either way, it’s a cool-looking environment.
The 5-reel, 3-row grid is filled with cherries, lemons, oranges, and plums. Look for grapes, watermelons, and 7s, because they are the ones who’ll pay the most. Sure, they’re classic retro symbols, but VoltEnt gave them a glossy makeover that makes them look sharper than ever.
At the top of the screen you’ll find four Jackpots: the Mini pays 10x, the Minor pays 25x, the Major pays 50x, and the Grand pays 3,000x.
To assist you on your hunt for a big payday, you’ll find the Chance Level bar on the left. I’ll cover this down below, but having these options is definitely an advantage.
As always with VoltEnt, you’ll have the options to adjust the volatility level and spin-speed. There’s also the Gamble option, giving you a chance to double your money after each win.
The game is built on the following stats: 10 paylines, a 96.14% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate., a 3,000x max multiplier, and a $300,000 max win.
Features
JACKPOTS
Compared to most other games, the way to score a Jackpot here is a little bit different. There’s no special bonus round to trigger before you even get a chance at a Jackpot. Instead, landing 2, 3, 4, or 5 Scatters awards the Mini, Minor, Major, or Grand Jackpot respectively.
Grand Jackpot
There’s another way for you to pocket the 3,000x Grand Jackpot. If you can land 15 of the 7 symbols, the Grand is yours.
SCATTER RE-SPIN
When you land a Scatter symbol (the golden crown), it will lock in place, and you’re awarded a re-spin.
CHANCE LEVEL
I mentioned the Chance Level in the beginning, so let me break down what each level can do for you when activated.
-
Level x2 - Doubles your bet, and gives you a 2x higher chance to win a Jackpot.
-
Level x5 - Your bet is multiplied by 5x, and it also gives you a 5x higher chance to score a Jackpot.
-
Level x10 - Gives you a 10x higher chance to land a Jackpot, for a 10x bet.
Performance
Everything worked smoothly across the board, and I have no issues to report.
Max Win
You can bet anywhere from $0.10 to $100. To win the $300,000 max win, you’ll need to hit the 3,000x max multiplier on a $100 bet.
Conclusion
With this game, VoltEnt mixes retro fruit-slot vibes with some modern twists, but at its heart, it’s still a Jackpot chase. Base-game wins land about 30–35% of the time, while Scatter re-spins pop up once every 50–70 spins on average.
What about the Jackpots? Well, the Mini through the Major actually drops at a pretty fair rate. It makes sense that the Grand (via 5 Scatters) only happens around once in 3,000+ spins, and hitting 15 Sevens for the same prize is even rarer.
Compared to Crown of Fire slot by Pragmatic Play, this version adds more player control with the Chance Level mechanic.
Bottom line: if you enjoy retro fruit symbols dressed up in high-end graphics with adjustable volatility and a Jackpot-driven core, this is a solid pick. If you’re chasing explosive features or massive multipliers, though, the “legacy” might feel more like a waiting game.
Be patient and you could find solid value here. If not, you’ll probably just end up yelling at Mars like Arnold.
