Nuwa Slot Review
Mermaids are, in my opinion, one of the coolest mythical creatures around. Not only are they half beautiful woman, they’re also half fish! That makes them hybrids of two of the most different creatures you can think of. I mean, as far as animals go - humans and fish are pretty damn far apart.
Gameplay
Nuwa is a 5-reel, 28-payline video slot powered by software from Habanero. Symbols include 5 different kinds of flowers, and 5 lanterns in corresponding colors. The Wild is represented by Nuwa, the mermaid, and the Scatter is represented by a dragon.
Controls are fairly standard for Habanero but let’s run through them. Below the reels you’ll find: Info, Bet, Bet Level +/-, Bet Max, Spin, Auto Play, Coin Value +/-, and Balance.
Features
So, what features can you expect from Nuwa?
Wild: Wild only appears on reels 1 and 3 during the base game, and substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter. Any Wild that appears in a winning combo will expand to cover all positions on the reel before pays are awarded.
Unique Features
The first bonus feature is a free spins feature which is triggered when you land 3 or more Scatters on the reels. You’ll receive 8 free games and will have the chance to play towards triggering the bonus game, which will activate once you have collected all 5 lanterns.
The bonus game awards an additional 5 free spins, during which all prizes are doubled and the Wild appears on the reels at least twice during each spin. Play is fixed at 28 lines.
Performance
Nuwa is inspired by East Asian folklore, and really pays incredibly respectful homage to the culture. The graphics are truly stunning, as are the sound effects, and there’s gameplay available on mobile, desktop, and tablet.
Max Win
The max coin win is a whopping 140,000, when your bet is set to max.
Conclusion
With gorgeous graphics, an exciting theme, and an epic free spins feature, Nuwa is to punters as a Siren’s call is to sailors. This slot offers some massive wins, all set against a truly mesmerizing backdrop. Nice work Habanero!
