Outlaw Saloon Slot Review
Watering trough, gin mill, bughouse, shebang, and cantina – many are the names we’ve given the humble saloon. The first saloon was built in 1822, at Brown’s Hole Wyoming, and its clientele was made up of fur trappers.
Saloons started offering free meals when things got a bit tight, as long as you bought at least one drink. And speaking of freebies, Outlaw Saloon slot from Quickfire likes to give away multipliers and spins.
So, strap on those snakeskin boots and chaps (just not the ass-less ones) – it’s time to get our drink on!
Gameplay
Okay, so the name of this game is Outlaw Saloon slot, which makes me wonder why Quickfire has the grid floating above a street in the middle of town. It turns out, we segway into the saloon only when the Free Spins feature kicks in.
As we’re on the topic of design, I have to say that the characters on the reels look poorly rendered. The rest of the design is OK, albeit old looking, but the outlaws – which are the main figures here, after all – just don’t seem to have received the attention they deserve.
Happily, things look pretty decent on a mobile phone. I could see what was happening on the reels, the controls were easy to interact with, and both landscape and portrait modes were equally usable.
This 20-payline game comes to us with a 96% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate., a high volatility rate, and a €250,000 max win. Crypto players will have to look elsewhere though, as this game only accepts fiat currency.
Features
The Wild symbols appear only on reels 2 to 4, and it replaces all symbols except for Gold Bars, Whiskey Bottles, Tequila, and Wine Glasses.
FREE SPINS:
You’ll need to collect 8 Sheriff’s Badges to trigger 8 Free Spins (you’ll see how many you’ve collected in the meter above the grid).
Badges appear on reels 2 to 4, and they’re also Wild. Landed Badges award an extra spin, and they’ll lock in place during re-spins.
When you initially score the Free Spins feature, you’ll get to choose between the 3 outlaws:
Bearded dude:
He represents Multiplier Free Spins. Revealed Whiskey Bottles and Badges will award an extra spin, and the symbols will lock in place. Multipliers come in the form of Whiskey Bottles, and they can award 3x, 6x, or 9x your bet.
Babe:
Landing a Tequila symbol during this round guarantees a re-spin. When either a Tequila or a Badge is revealed, this will award a re-spin and the triggering symbol will lock in place.
Clean-shaven dude:
Landing Wine Glasses and Badges will trigger re-spins and the symbols will lock in place, as was the case with the previous outlaws. Wine Glasses award cash prizes of 2x to 50x your bet.
GOLD BARS:
Landing 5 gold bars on a winning payline will see you rewarded with 5,000x your bet. Landing 4 of em gets you 500x, while 3 gold bars will boost your winnings by 50x your bet.
SHERIFF’S BADGE COLLECTION:
The Sheriff’s Badge symbol will appear on reels 2 to 4, and they’re collected when they land. Badges can turn into Wilds, Gold Bars, and they can also become sticky and fire off a re-spin.
Performance
I threw literally hundreds of spins at Outlaw Saloon slot and not once did I experience any lag, buffering, or glitches on any of my devices.
Maximum Win
There’s a quarter mil (€250,000) up for grabs, here. The other good news is that the 10,000x multiplier takes the pressure off us players, so we only need to keep betting at €25 if we wanna clinch that top prize.
For those on tighter budgets, you can start betting from as little as €0.20.
Conclusion
I’m still not happy with the main characters' design and overall, the game looks dated. Outlaw Saloon slot does nothing to elevate itself above other Wild West-themed games, but it does offer solid stats, so there is that.
I can’t say I found the gameplay to be all that interesting, but you might feel differently. There was just a lot of waiting around in the base game, and the features didn’t do much for me, either.
So, not an exceptional game but one that still has some redeeming features.
