Pearl O’ Plinko - Fire & Bones Review

You know that show Swamp People? The one where leathery men in tank tops wrestle alligators 🐊 in water that looks like a thousand people marinated their athlete’s foot in it?

That’s the kind of liquid environment we’re dealing with in Pearl O’ Plinko – Fire & Bones from Quickspin. That… and liquid lava 🌋.

Not sure which is worse 😖. And we’re supposed to launch precious pearls into them like that’s a normal thing to do.

But what’s normal anyway? I saw a guy eat drywall on TikTok and get 30k followers – I guess this checks out 🤷🏻‍♀️. Don’t even get me started on that woman claiming she’s dating the ghost of Elvis.

So yeah, the water’s gross, but the pearls are profitable, and I’m into it. Tetanus be damned!

Gameplay

Whether it be on The Price is Right or at a casino, you’ve seen Plinko. You drop a ball, it hits a bunch of stuff, and if the universe likes you that day, it lands in a high-value hole. If not, well… enjoy your 0.2x.
This game is the follow-up of Pearl O’ Plinko - Mermaid’s Cove. Same triangular layout, same gravitational turmoil, but instead of mermaids and bedazzled krakens, we’ve got pirate ships, and moody volcanoes.

Like a standard game of Plinko, there’s a ball launcher. Except in this case, it’s a purple clam that spits out pearls (as the balls).

The balls bounce down the board, hitting pegs – or jagged rocks, pirate-style – and tumble towards treasure chests at the bottom.

These chests are your Award Pockets, and if a ball lands in one, you pocket whatever value it holds, ranging between 0.2x and 5x (in the base game).

Yes, I said base game, meaning this isn’t your grandma’s game-show Plinko, this one has extra features and bonus islands with upgraded prize zones and bigger booty – just how the pirates like it.

But we’ll get to that in a sec. First, the pearls.

You can launch anywhere from 1 to 100 balls at a time, and each one costs at least 0.10x. You can increase that up to 100x per ball.

So yeah, fire 10 pearls at 100x each, and that round’s gonna cost you 1000x total. You’ll find the ball and bet settings under the Spin and Autoplay buttons on the right.

And if you’re wondering what kind of damage, or treasure, we’re talking here: the game has very low volatility, a 98% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
, and a maximum multiplier of 243x per ball. That means you could win up to $24,300 per ball if you play your cards (or clams) right.

Features

I’ll kick off this section speaking about the base game features that are equal parts unique as they are insanely good.

AWARD GATES

In the middle of the triangle you’ll see a wave with a 0.1x value on it. This is the Award Gate.

If a ball drops over it, you will win its value, and the ball continues to bounce down the board to the bottom.

BONUS POCKETS

There are whirlpools on the board – those are your Bonus Pockets. If a ball lands in one, it gets whisked away and a ball gets added to the Bonus Island (which you’ll head into when your current round ends).

RE-LAUNCHER

There’s a tribal-looking pot at the bottom of the board and if a pearl lands in it, you’ll get three extra balls automatically re-launched from the top.

It’s like a second chance, times three.

BONUS GAMES

So we know the Bonus Pockets send us somewhere… But where? Island hopping.

There are two islands, Ship Graveyard and Fire Island, to work through, each with increased rewards.

SHIP GRAVEYARD

In the Ship Graveyard, Award Pockets now pay between 0.3x and 10x. There are two Award Gates worth 0.1x and 0.5x, and three Bonus Pockets that can send you to the next stage.

The Re-Launcher also moves to the middle of the board for more chances to drop those three extra balls.

FIRE ISLAND

Fire Island is the final stage. There are no Bonus Pockets here, but Award Pockets now start at 2x to 13x, and the Award Gate is worth 1x.

Once all balls have landed, the bonus round ends, and you return to the base game.

The same applies to Ship Graveyard – if none of your balls land in a Bonus Pocket there, your journey also ends, and you’re sent back to the main board.

BUY BONUS

For 4x and 12x, you can buy direct entry into the Ship Graveyard and Fire Island Bonus Games, respectively – starting with the same number of balls you’ve selected in the base game.
The Buy Bonus button is on the left of the reels, marked by an old, crusty pirate map. Naturally.

ANTE BET

Activate the Ante BetAn Ante Bet is an option that costs a percentage of your bet but increases your chances of landing triggering symbols that initiate a feature. for 1.5x your base bet, and you’ll get an extra Bonus Pocket (whirlpool) in the base game – giving you better odds of triggering the bonus round.

You can toggle the Extra Bet on or off anytime, just below the Buy Bonus button.

Performance

Considering how often this game zips between the base game and the bonus islands -
sometimes within literal seconds – the performance is genuinely impressive.

No lag, no loading issues, just smooth transitions in and out.

That said, I’d recommend playing on a desktop or tablet. With small balls and so many moving parts, literally, things feel cramped on a phone.

Maximum Win

As mentioned in the Gameplay section, you can bet anywhere from $0.10 to $100 per ball and launch between 1 and 100 balls per round. Each ball has its own shot at the top payout – a maximum of $24,300, or a 243x multiplier.

So yeah, if you’re firing high-stake pearls, things can escalate quickly – in either direction.

Conclusion

I am a Plinko person, but playing this felt like trying to learn traffic flow theory from a bouncy castle.

Pearls were flying, whirlpools were doing their thing, and those Award Gates? They looked like speed boosters from Subway Surfer. It’s chaos – beautiful, bouncy chaos – and that might be a bit much for some.

Here’s the thing, though: Quickspin nails the execution. The rules are clearly explained, the interface is intuitive, and they somehow made a traditionally passive game feel dynamic.

But if you’re more into the straightforward, no-frills Plinko experience, give Plinko 2 from BGaming a go.

It keeps things classic, it’s low volatility – but with just the right amount of extra (like Multi Balls and Re-Spins) to keep it interesting.

Volatility RateSlot games can have low, medium, high, or extremely high volatility rates (or a combination thereof).

The less volatile the game, the more often it should pay out, but the lower the amount, the less the payout, as this is in keeping with the risk you’re taking. Volatility rate should be considered in conjunction with a game’s RTP.
