Piggy Blitz Disco Gold Slot Review
Stories abound about those legendary times at Studio 54 – the famous New York nightclub 🪩🕺 where only the fabulously dressed and famous could get in.
One of those stories has it that Bianca Jagger – Mick’s then-wife – rode into the club on a white horse 🐴 on her birthday. I pity the poor cleaning staff who had to work that evening.
The disco era was a time of inclusion, but at least they didn’t have to deal with people who identified as teapots 🫖 or whatever, like we do today.
Now that I’ve riled up a whole bunch of people, my job here is done. Well, almost. There’s still the matter of my insightful review of Piggy Blitz Disco Gold slot from Play'n Go.
Gameplay
Are you ready to get your groove on, brothers and sisters? This game looks out of sight with its neon colors and slammin’ soundtrack.
The grid is a 6x4 affair and on it, you’ll see Wilds – which substitute for all symbols that aren’t Scatters – Diamonds, Bells, Dice, and Poker Chips.
There are 4,096 winning ways, the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. is 96.29%, and the volatility rate is medium. Despite the latter, you can score $360,000 in combination with the 6,000x max multiplier. Groovy, baby!
The only currency you can play with is fiat money – with the exception of the Japanese yen – and Bitcoin.
Features
CASH COINS:
Coins are the big thing in this game and they can carry values of 0.5x to 25x. Also, they can have Jackpot values: The Minor pays 100x, the Major pays 250x, and the Mega Jackpot pays 1,000x your bet.
Your objective is to land a Piggy Bank symbol at the same time as a Coin so that the Coin value can be collected. It’s possible to land two Piggy Banks, which means the Coin values will be collected twice. Nice.
If you land 2 Piggy Banks but no Cash Coins, this will trigger a re-spin.
GOLD PIGGY:
Following on from what I said above, if Cash Coins land but there are no Piggy Banks to collect them, they can be grabbed by a Gold Piggy Bank.
The Gold Piggy grows in size as Coins are collected and a prize can also be randomly awarded while you’re on your collecting spree. These prizes are multipliers, and they can be 10x, 20x, 50x, 100x, 200x, 500x, 2,000x, and 5,000x.
FREE SPINS:
So the Free Spins round comes with a twist; you get to choose your spins.
- Land 3 Scatters for 10 Free Spins or 5 Blitz Spins
- Land 4 Scatters for 15 Free Spins or 10 Blitz Spins
- Land 5 Scatters for 20 Free Spins or 15 Blitz Spins
- Land 6 Scatters for 20 Blitz Spins
If you can’t decide which type you want, you can opt for the Mystery Spinz, and the software will choose for you.
Your task during regular Free Spins is to collect Scatters in a meter. Doing so will give you extra spins and random multipliers for each 4th Scatter you collect. Reminds me of the Big Bass series – has someone been copying someone else’s homework?
The maximum number of spins you can score is 55, and the largest possible multiplier is 50x.
I almost forgot to mention that only Diamonds (the highest-paying symbol) and Royal symbols are present during Free Spins, meaning no Cash Coins or Piggy Banks will land.
BLITZ SPINS:
Your objective here is to hoard as many Cash Coins as possible. All Cash Coins – plus the Mini, Minor, Major, and Mega Jackpots – can be collected twice.
During this round, only Cash Coins and Piggy Banks will land (and the latter are guaranteed to do so). You can score multipliers of up to 150x and all Cash Coins, plus the Jackpots, can be collected twice.
Performance
The game gives up the ghost faster than personal hygiene at Woodstock, so be sure to pay it attention, or it will time out on you.
Maximum Win
Betting starts at $0.10 and is capped at $60. Combine the latter with the 6,000x max multiplier for a payday worth $360,000.
Conclusion
Piggy Blitz Disco Gold slot is the latest addition to the porker series. The OG version also had 4,096 winning ways but offered a 5,000x max multiplier and a $250,000 top prize, so things have improved since then.
The old version had Blitz Spins but no Free Spins, but it did offer Jackpots at least.
The new installment has introduced Free Spins, but it limits you, as no Cash Coins or Piggy Banks appear, so the Blitz Spins round is where it’s at. Which begs the question: why bother with regular Free Spins at all?
Play’n GO has done some tweaking to make things a little different, but I’m not sure that the additions are all that useful. It’s kinda more like they built it out more for the sake of saying, “Look, we’ve made changes, and we’ve added stuff.” But the stats are better, at least.
