Pile ’Em Up Slot Review
The world’s largest gold coin – according to the Guinness Book of World Records – is the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf.
Tipping the scales at a wallet-wrecking 220 pounds, only 6 of these behemoth-sized coins were struck. One of them sold in 2010 and brought in around $5 million if we extrapolate to 2022 dollars.
While the coins in Pile ’Em Up slot from Quickfire might not net you quite as much, they could still make you a pretty penny. Let’s check it out.
Gameplay
I prefer games that have been designed to look cool rather than when studios pick an overused theme. Pile ’Em Up slot has some fruit and gemstones on its 5 reels, but other than that, it’s unique and bold.
I like how they’ve made the reels borderless; everything is large and easy to see. And that means it’s spectacular on a mobile phone. Check it out in portrait mode – the grid takes over the entire screen and it looks amazeballs. Definitely one of my favorite on-the-go options, this.
The action happens across 20 paylines, and the slot offers up an RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. of 96.22%, along with a high volatility rate. The max win is €225,000 (so, that’s pretty much what I was expecting), but here’s the caveat: this game accepts fiat currency only, except for the Japanese yen. Gomenne.
Features
Pile ’Em Up slot is all about collecting coins. You’ll see that each Coin has a value (from 0.2x to 50x your total bet) and when a magnet (Collect) symbol lands at the same time, the values of the Coins are multiplied by the Coin Booster and paid out.
COIN BOOSTER:
The Coin Booster is that element at the top left of the screen. As you can see, it has a multiplier value (starting at 1x) which increases with every 1UP symbol up to 10x. Once the payout has been made, as I mentioned above, the multiplier resets to 1x.
The Coin Booster is available during the base game, Free Spins, and the Heart Bonus.
WILDS:
These symbols can replace all others, except the Free Spins, Bonus, and 1UP symbols. You’ll see Wilds during the base game, as well as in the Free Spins round.
FREE SPINS:
Landing 3 flowery Free Spins symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5, will set this feature off. This will grant you 9 spins with an additional 2 or 3 Free Spins symbols awarding an extra 3 or 9 spins, respectively. The Coin Booster multiplier will be carried over.
HEART BONUS:
If you manage to land a Heart Bonus symbol on each of the reels, you’ll set off the Bonus round. The Coin Booster’s multiplier is once again carried over and all of the Coin symbols will become sticky.
You’ll start the round with 3 spins, but you can reset the counter for each additional Heart that lands. The feature ends when you run out of Coins, or there are Coins in all the available positions. All Coin symbol values will change to 50x your bet in the latter case.
Performance
Pile ’Em Up slot worked a treat during testing, with zero glitches or issues. I tried it out on my iPhone and Mac Mini and also using Safari and Chrome – neither made a difference to the gameplay.
Maximum Win
There’s a fairly decent set-up going on here. The betting range isn’t too hectic (€0.20 to €30), so players don’t need to cough up ridiculous amounts to stay at the highest bet level. Which you'll need to do if you’re chasing that €225,000 top prize.
Conclusion
It’s a good game, this one. The design is impactful and works stunningly on a phone, the stats are solid, and there are plenty of uncomplicated features to keep you entertained while you chase that €225,000 max win. I’d definitely recommend Pile ’Em Up slot.
