Queen of Gods Slot Review

Ancient Egyptians believed in more than 2,000 deities. I admire that kind of fervent faith, especially considering that I have trouble even committing to one.

So, I imagine that it must have been one hell of an undertaking to keep track of all of them. I mean, if you’ve got thousands of gods, surely adding or subtracting a couple every now and then must have been on the cards.

Here’s how I imagine it playing out. Picture a meeting of the local priests, wearing their funny crotch covers and too much guyliner, of course.

“Okay guys, we’ve had some trouble with hippos killing our pharaohs. Anyone keen to add in a large semi-aquatic mammal god? Show of hands, please.”

You get the picture.

What a job the title character in Pragmatic Play’s new Queen of Gods slot must have had. Talk about an important lady…

Gameplay

Queen of Gods slot is a 5-reel, 10-payline game from Pragmatic Play. It’s Ancient Egypt-themed (obviously), so aesthetically we’ve landed in the heart of Nile River Valley.

The reels are situated in the inside of a temple, complete with gold gilded walls and hieroglyphic-covered columns. I tested this slot out on my mobile and desktop devices, and it looked great on a phone, as well as on my 14-inch MacBook Pro screen.

The sound effects are quintessentially and generically “Egyptian” – you know the drill. They’re easy to mute though, just hit the button at the bottom right of the screen.

I was happy enough with the stats, particularly the above average 96.38% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
and medium-high volatility rate (my favorite). There’s plenty of room for newbs and high rollers too, because the bet limits range from €0.10 to €100.

There are a couple of currency limitations, though. Players using Japanese Yen, Bitcoin Cash, or Tether won’t be able to claim the €182,300 max win.

Features

WILD

The Wild substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter, and only appears on reels 2, 3, and 4.

STACKED WILDS

During the base game, there’s a chance for full vertical stacks of Wild symbols to land on reels 2, 3, and 4.

FREE SPINS

Score 3 or more Scatter symbols to trigger 1 of 4 possible Free Spins options. The choice is yours, and you can decide between the following Free Spins features:

15 Free Spins, Wild without a multiplier
11 Free Spins, Wild has a 2x multiplier
8 Free Spins, Wild carries a 3x multiplier
Mystery option, during which any of the above features may be triggered.

During the Free Spins round, only the four god symbols are present on the reels.

Performance

I tested Queen of Gods slot out on my mobile and desktop devices. It offers truly seamless gameplay, with the reels spinning smoothly throughout.

There were no glitches, regardless of whether I played on Safari or Chrome. Overall, this slot is nicely done.

Maximum Win

Now, €182,300 isn’t a fortune, but it’s a pretty decent maximum win. Set your bet to max, land the top multiplier, and you’re in for a major payout.

Conclusion

Queen of Gods slot isn’t the most memorable game out there, but it’ll do the trick in a pinch. I’ve seen much worse Ancient Egypt-themed slots, offering fewer features and smaller payouts, so this one was a bit of a respite.

With that said, there are minimal features (it’s pretty basic, even with the Free Spins variations), and the payout potential isn’t huge.

So, will I be returning to Queen of Gods slot? Probably not, but it’s worth a once off spin if you’re in the mood for a trip down the River Nile.
