Queen of the Pyramids: Mega Cash Collect Slot Review
Back in the good ol’ university days, we used to attend a particular type of party 🥳 that I don’t think you could get away with now. They had funny names like Hoes & Bros or Maids & Masters 👯♀️.
Before you think we were insensitive, they were crossdressing parties. So guys would dress up as hoes and maids, and girls would dress up as bros and masters.
It was a good laugh, lampooning the opposite sex for a night of fun🤣.
You would also get free entry for dressing up, and the best dressed won a massive bar tab they could spend whenever they wanted.
I won once. I was the hoe-iest-looking hoe🏆.
My guess was that being that ugly in make-up and the skimpiest outfit I could cobble together (g-string included, which I flashed often) clinched the win for me. But I would make a horrific drag queen.
Thankfully, Queen Cleopatra isn’t as disturbing in her depiction in Queen of the Pyramids: Mega Cash Collect slot from Playtech.
Gameplay
The latest Mega Cash Collect title from PlayTech is the Ancient Egypt-themed Queen of the Pyramids: Mega Cash Collect slot.
And that is quite the title. So don’t expect me to type that out too many times. The game looks surprisingly good, with surprisingly realistic fire on either side of the 3-4-4-4-3 row grid.
There are 5 high symbols: a cat statue, a gold cobra ring, the eye of Horus, a scarab beetle, and an ankh symbol. You need to land at least 3 matching symbols on one of the 30 paylines to form a win.
If you want to know how often you’ll win, you need to know that this slot has an RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. of 95.41% and is rated as having medium to high volatility.
The most you can win is surprisingly low for this sort of slot, topping out at just €131,100, so you’ll need the highest possible multiplier of 2,622x to win while betting the highest stake allowed.
This is a fiat currency-only slot, and your betting starts as low as €0.10 and goes up to €50.
The base game is fine for playing on your phone in portrait or landscape, but when you trigger Free Spins, the reels double in size, and it is not good in landscape.
If you don’t mind switching your phone, then this slot is fine on your phone.
Features
WILDS
The Wild symbol here is supposed to be Cleopatra’s eyes, and when it lands, it can land stacked and expand into one big Wild symbol to help contribute to a win.
CASH COLLECT SYMBOL
If you've ever played a Mega Cash Collect slot machine, you'll be familiar with the Cash Collect symbol.
Cash Collect symbols only appear on reels 1 and 5 and collect Coin, Free Spin, Sticky Cash, Cash Collect Prize, and Cash Spreader symbols, as well as the Key symbols during Free Spins.
If you land a Cash Collect Symbol and Free Spins symbols, you trigger a Free Spins round with the number of Free Spins equal to the numbers they display.
MEGA CASH COLLECT
Mega Cash Collect is when a Cash Collect symbol lands on reels 1 and 5 on the same spin. Both Cash Collect symbols will collect the Coin symbols that appear on the reels and award them.
COIN SYMBOLS
Coin symbols look like gold coins and carry a cash prize based on your current betting level. They appear in the base and Free Spins games but will only payout if they land at the same time as a Cash Collect symbol.
FREE SPINS SYMBOL
Free Spin symbols appear in the base game and during Free Spins and can award +2, +3, +4, +5, +7, or +10 Free Spins when collected by the Cash Collect symbol.
FREE SPINS
The first thing you’ll notice when you trigger Free Spins is that the game adds another set of locked reels above the original reels.
To unlock them, you must land a Key symbol and a Cash Collect symbol at the same time, and it will unlock reels from the bottom up.
During Free Spins, the Cash Collect symbol appears on all the reels instead of just 1 and 5 and is sticky for 3 Free Spins each.
If you unlock the 4th locked reel, the Cash Collect symbol is sticky for 5 Free Spins.
There are also additional special symbols added to the reels during Free Spins.
Dropping Wilds: A Wild Symbol that lands on the unlocked reels transforms into a Dropping Wild which takes over the entire main reel below it when it lands.
Cash Spreader: This symbol appears on any reel and will randomly add Coin, Free Spin, Sticky Cash, Cash Collect Prize, and Key symbols and then transform into a random Coin symbol.
Sticky Cash: These symbols can land anywhere on the reels and stay in position. It carries a cash prize starting at 1x and will double in value up to 16x on each spin, and will be collected when 1 or more Cash Collect symbols land. After 16x, the symbol transforms into a Cash Collect Prize symbol.
JACKPOT
The jackpots are randomly awarded by Cash Collect Prizes when they’re collected by a Cash Collect Symbol in the base game or Free Spins.
- Mini Jackpot = 20x your current bet.
- Minor Jackpot = 50x your current bet.
- Major Jackpot = 200x your current bet.
- Grand Jackpot = 500x your current bet.
Performance
There were no issues when I played Queen of the Pyramids: Mega Cash Collect slot on my Android phone or Windows-operated laptop.
Maximum Win
The betting here starts at €0.10 and ends at €50. The best multiplier you can hit is 2,622x, which can award up to €131,100.
Conclusion
If you’ve seen one Egyptian-themed slot, you’ve seen them all, right? Well, yes, and no. This is a new game in the ever-popular Mega Cash Collect series.
The entire point of the game is hinged on the Cash Collect symbol, which is your key to triggering any feature or symbol in the game.
It is a massive pity that you don’t have a Buy Bonus feature here, because I know I would use it.
The Free Spins round has locked reels above the base game reels that can drastically change how the game plays. You unlock more and more positions that can award more prizes when a Cash Collect symbol lands.
For a medium-to-high volatility slot, the maximum prize is a little on the low side, and the theme is as overplayed as Nirvana’s Nevermind album.
But just like the album, this is a slot I will play again.
