Queens of Ra: Power Combo Slot Review
I’ve written a few books in my time – I know it’s hard to imagine that I could write anything other than sarcastic reviews that involve genitals or bodily fluids – and on both occasions, I worked as part of a team. 📖🖋️
Now, I’m not comparing myself to Alexandre Dumas in any way – he’s the alleged author of The Three Musketeers and I’m just a hack – but there’s a reason I’m going down this road so hear me out. ⚔️
I say “alleged” because Dumas actually had a team of ghostwriters working for him on this most iconic of tales. Collaborations can make for a powerful combination, as you’ll find in Queens of Ra: Power Combo slot from Quickfire.
But there’s another reason I went the Dumas route; you see, the SPIN button in this game is labeled, “All for One”. Pretty neat how I tied all these elements together in my intro, huh? No need to applaud; I do my best for you. 👏
Gameplay
We get a traditional 5x3-reel grid that comes with 40 paylines, and we also have an RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. of 96.20% and a very high volatility rate.
While the multiplier is excellent – at 15,000x – I reckon the top prize could’ve been a bit higher than the** €240,000** as this is the amount we usually see for games that are “only” highly volatile. The accepted currency is fiat money but no Japanese yen may be used.
To the left of the grid are icons for the Twin Power, Jackpot Power, and Collection Power features. More on these below.
Wild symbols can replace all symbols other than Scatters, and they appear on reels 2 to 4.
Features
LINK&WIN:
So, this is a Link&Win game and any Scatter can trigger the Twin Power, Jackpot Power, and Collection Power features – either independently, or as a combination. Hmmm, now that sounds interesting!
Green Scatters:
These will trigger the Link&Win feature with Twin Power.
You’ll see 2 grids made up of 5 reels and 3 rows. The triggering Scatters turn into Scarab Coins and will be mirrored on both grids in the same position.
Red Scatters:
These will trigger the Link&Win feature with Jackpot Power.
Triggering Scatters turn into Scarab Coins that are either red, blue, or green. Collect 3 of the same-colored Scarabs and you’ll be awarded their respective Jackpot, namely:
- Mega Jackpot: 5,000x your bet – 3 red Scarabs
- Major Jackpot: 100x your bet – 3 blue Scarabs
- Mini Jackpot: 10x your bet – 3 green Scarabs
Blue Scatters:
These will trigger the Link&Win feature with Collection Power.
Landing at least 1 Scarab Coin will see it re-collect the values of all the Scarab symbols that landed on the same reels during the previous spins.
Combining Scatters:
Landing different types of Scatters means you trigger the Link&Win feature with combined aspects:
- Green and blue Scatters award Link&Win with Twin Power and Collection Power
- Green and red Scatters award Link&Win with Twin Power and Jackpot Power
- Blue Scatters and red Scatters award Link&Win with Collection Power and Jackpot Power
- Green, red, and blue Scatters award Link&Win with all of the elements
You’ll start the feature with 3 spins and only Scarab Coin symbols and blank tiles will appear on the reels. Newly-landed Scarab Coins which will reset the spin counter to 3.
Scarab Coins can have a multiplier with the following values: 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 7.5x, 10x, or 20x.
BUY BONUS:
You have 7 options to choose from – talk about spoilt for choice!
- Option 1: 23x your bet triggers the Link&Win with Twin Power
- Option 2: 35x your bet triggers the Link&Win with Collection Power
- Option 3: 37x your bet triggers the Link&Win with Jackpot Power
- Option 4: 54x your bet triggers the Link&Win with Collection Power and Jackpot Power
- Option 5: 74x your bet triggers the Link&Win with Twin Power and Collection Power
- Option 6: 88x your bet triggers the Link&Win with Twin Power and Jackpot Power
- Option 7: 117x your bet triggers the Link&Win with all 3 elements
Performance
Performance wasn’t an issue during testing. I had no instances of glitches or loading issues on any of my devices.
Maximum Win
There’s €240,000 to be won in Queens of Ra: Power Combo slot, which comes from a combination of the 15,000x multiplier and the max bet of €16. The lowest bet you can make is €0.20.
Conclusion
Link&Win games aren’t new, but it’s rare to see one where you can combine elements like you can here. As for the blue Scarab element which collects values from previous spins, well, that’s amazing and not something I’ve come across before.
And – let’s not put too fine a point on this – the game offers exceptionally decent fees when it comes to the Buy Bonus, I might add.
The other brilliant aspect of Queens of Ra: Power Combo slot is that it’s a wonderful option for on-the-go play, with portrait mode being my favorite way of engaging with the game.
Yeah, I rate this slot but I don’t think it’s newbie-friendly for two reasons: the volatility rate and the fact that there are all those combinations to the Link&Win feature that might get confusing. For everyone else, I say go for it!
