The T-Rex is sticky but she can move in any direction. One of the 4 high-paying dinosaur symbols will be chosen at the start of the round and this will act as a target for the queen of all predators.
In other words, when the target symbol appears on the grid and it has a glowing frame around it, the T-Rex will move and land on it, thereby consuming the poor bastard.
If there is more than one target symbol, T-Rex can move to the furthest one but she’ll consume all of the target symbols as she does so.
Our T-Rex’s multiplier will increase by 1x for every sixth target consumed. Landing 2, 3, 4, or 5 additional Scatters awards 2, 3, 4, or 5 more spins.
Hatchling Mania
Hatchlings become sticky in this round and can move in whichever direction they desire – as long as momma isn’t on the scene. Hatchlings carry win multipliers of 2x or 3x, which can also be multiplied together if multiple hatchlings are involved in the same win.
Free Spins can be re-triggered: 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 more Scatters = 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 additional spins.
Survival
If more than 3 Scatters initially triggered the Free Spins round, you’ll be awarded a symbol upgrade for each additional Scatter over 3 before the round begins.
You get 3 lives to begin with and each spin uses up a life. There are 12 positions on the grid with the T-Rex in the middle. When a dino lands on one of these spots, it’s summarily eaten and this action resets the spin counter.
The dinosaurs that have been gobbled up are replaced by sticky Bone symbols, and our T-Rex absorbs their value.
You’ll notice that there’s a bone meter above the reels. Each Bone symbol fills the meter by a factor of one and when it’s topped up, all of the Bone symbols will be removed.
At this stage, the dinosaur values will be upgraded – I saw figures of 40x while I was testing – and you’ll be paid the full value of whatever T-Rex has eaten at the end of the round.
Initially, it takes 6 Bone symbols to fill the meter but that will increase by a factor of 1 for the first two times and then it increases by 2 after that.
RE-SPINS:
If the T-Rex lands on reels 2 to 6 and is clearly visible, that will trigger the Re-spins feature. T-Rex is now sticky and the symbol will walk toward reel number 1 with each spin.
Hatchlings are also sticky and they will walk in front of, or behind, the T-Rex. You can clinch up to 5 re-spins and the spins will end when she reaches reel number one.
Performance
The only thing I can complain about is that Raging Rex 3 slot times out quickly if you don’t pay the game regular attention or move across to another application for a bit. Not that this is a performance issue as the action is seamless and the loading times were on point.
Maximum Win
There’s some good stuff going on here: a T-Rex-sized max multiplier of 30,000x is available in this game and if you pair that with the €7.50 max bet, you’ll be awarded a prize of €225,000. And we’re talking about a medium-volatility game!
Conclusion
Raging Rex 3 slot bucks the current trend of offering rubbish top prizes that are way out of sync with their volatility rates. In this instance, the moolah you can win is around double what it should be!
The gameplay isn’t the most exciting in the world but I haven’t seen Walking Wilds in a while so at least what’s on offer isn’t the usual done-to-death stuff. What I would’ve liked to see is a Buy Bonus but I didn’t have to wait inordinate amounts of time to trigger the features.
