Rainbow Reels Slot Review
There are some themes that players and providers just absolutely love. The “Book of…” slots come to mind first, but so do fruit slots, African savannah-themed games, Ancient Egypt, and, of course, Irish-themed slots.
Naturally, the Irish slots generally focus on mythology. It would be weird to have a game based on the Irish Potato Famine (look it up), but I’d kind of be into it.
Providers could still work within the theme, but highlighting the real-life struggles of the Irish people would offer a little more grit to the genre. And we all need that, right? Life isn’t taxing enough.
Alas, today’s Rainbow Reels slot from Pragmatic Play is of the former Irish variety. Rainbows, leprechauns, and horseshoes adorn the reels. No potatoes in sight.
Gameplay
Rainbow Reels slot doesn't venture too far from the traditional Irish theme, sticking to a formula a lot of us are already familiar with. However, despite the lack of groundbreaking creativity, this game manages to captivate with its appealing graphics and smooth animations. The game's sound effects also complement the gameplay beautifully, creating an ambiance that enhances your overall betting experience.
Rainbow Reels slot takes place on a 5x4 reel grid, with 40 paylines to win on. But, what sets this slot apart is its Seven Layers mechanic. Instead of the typical cascading wins, this slot removes winning symbols from the reels without replacing them from above.
Instead, adjacent symbols remain in place while a new row beneath the winning symbol is revealed, containing another random symbol. This process continues with each consecutive win, revealing more layers until either no new wins occur or the final layer is reached.
The paytable in Rainbow Reels slot is made up of 11 symbols, divided into low-paying and high-paying ones. The lower symbols consist of A-J royal values, while the high-paying ones include smoking pipes, beer mugs, horseshoes, shoes, top hats, and leprechauns.
Rainbow Reels slot has a 96.07% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate., a high volatility rate, and a top multiplier of 5,000x your bet. The bet limits range from €0.20 to €80, this game accepts all currencies aside from the Japanese yen, and the maximum win comes in at a whopping €400,000!
Features
FREE SPINS
The Free Spins feature is triggered when you land 3 or more Scatters. If you land 3, 4, or 5 Scatters on a spin, you'll also receive a cash prize of 2x, 10x, or 100x your bet, respectively, along with 12 Free Spins. Furthermore, if you land more Scatters during the bonus round, you'll earn an extra 6 free spins.
The Seven Layers mechanic really shows off during the Free Spins round. After reaching the 7th layer, the next symbol revealed will always be a Wild. These Wilds can participate in multiple winning combinations on each spin, staying on the reels for a specific number of 'cascades,' with a random counter ranging from 3 to 13.
BUY FEATURE
For those feeling impatient, there’s a Buy Feature that allows you to activate Free Spins immediately for 100x your bet.
Performance
I tried out Rainbow Reels slot on both my iPhone 13 and MacBook Pro, and it worked flawlessly on both. It's compatible with any device, browser, or operating system you prefer, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free betting experience.
Maximum Win
Forget everything else about this slot for a second, and let’s just focus on the fact that it has a maximum win of €400,000. Yep, 400k of the big ones. If that’s not enough reason to give this game a spin, I don’t know what is.
Conclusion
While Rainbow Reels slot may not be groundbreaking with its theme,, Pragmatic Play's introduction of the Seven Layers mechanic adds an exciting twist to the gameplay.
The game is extremely enjoyable and is sure to appeal to any player - just look at that max win. With its stunning visuals and exciting features, Rainbow Reels slot offers a superb betting experience with a touch of Irish charm.
