I live in what you would call a tourist town. So you get to meet some interesting people from all over the world.
One time I helped a young Thai couple at a restaurant. I was sitting at the next table and watched them struggle to order what they wanted from the wine menu.

It turned out the wife’s family is Catholic, and her brother had joined the church and was a priest. Or a Father.

Gameplay
Reapers slot is like an actual game! And it is super fun!
You play as a space ranger, battling aliens called Critters to free an Earth outpost on a distant planet. But you are blocked by 15 Barriers that you must clear to get to the base and into the Bonus game.
The Barriers are 5 layers of 8x8 grids. Each layer contains 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 grids, respectively. Each grid contains 5 types of Critter symbols (blue, green, purple, orange, and red) and Power Core symbols.
To get past the grids, you use 5 special collectors called Reapers. Reapers are sticky and expand to a 2x2 grid to collect winning clusters around them.
Reapers are deployed when a cluster of 5 or more corresponding color Critter symbols hits (either vertically or horizontally connected), and the Reaper will land adjacent to it, collect the symbols, and award you a cluster pay win.
When a Critter symbol is collected, it transforms into Energy Cells that the Reapers will use to power up their Charge. For every 5 Energy Cells collected, the Reaper will enable 1 Charge. You need these Charges to disable the Barrier.
The number of Charges you need to clear a grid at each Barrier group is:
- Groups 1 and 2 = 1 Charge
- Group 3 = 2 Charges
- Group 4 = 3 Charges
- Group 5 = 6 Charges
If you fail to collect enough Charges to disable a Barrier, you’re sent back to the beginning and have to start again.

Each Reaper has a special ability that makes it easier to progress and collect wins. The special ability is activated when a Reaper collects a Power Core symbol.
- Blue Reaper Energizer: It links with all the other Reapers and gives them each 1 Energy Cell once per grid.
- Green Reaper Linker: Links to one or all the Reapers, and both collect their corresponding Critter symbols adjacent to each other. It can also share a Power Core symbol if needed.
- Purple Reaper Transformer: Transforms all remaining Purple Critter symbols into a different symbol type, which the corresponding Reaper will collect if they are within reach.
- Orange Reaper Expander: Collects matching symbols in a 4x4 area around it instead of the standard 2x2 area.
- Red Reaper Erupter: Carries a random multiplier value at the beginning of each grid and multiplies all its collected wins up to 10x.
Once you’ve disabled all 15 Barrier grids, you trigger the Bonus Game, which takes you into the base building and aboard a ship or car of some kind.
Instead of 5 different Reapers, you’re given 1 Juggernaut Reaper, which sits in the middle of the grids and collects all the Critter symbols within a 4x4 area. Cluster with 5 or symbols are always collected.
There are 5 levels, each containing 75 8x8 grids containing Critter symbols. The aim is to collect clusters and their Energy Cells to fill a green meter on the Juggernaut Reaper before the counter runs out.
Any additional Energy Cells collected will carry over to the next level, and on each new level, one color Critter symbol is removed. First blue, then green, purple, yellow, and finally red.
The final level multiplier value, like you get on a Red Reaper Erupter, doesn’t reset at the beginning of each grid, which is applied to your total prize at the end of the feature, at which point you’re returned to the base game.
If you fail to collect enough Energy Cells before the end of the level and progress to the next, you’re awarded your winnings and returned to the start of the base game.
