Secret City Gold Slot Review

Rappers didn’t invent the grill; the Mayans did. That’s right, those ancient peeps used to drill holes in their front teeth which they inlaid with jade, pyrite, turquoise, and hematite.

And, in another blow to rap culture, the person with the most expensive grill in the world is actually Katie Perry! Fashioned by one of the wealthiest dentists in the world, Dr. Dorfman, her chompers apparently set her back a cool $1 million.

Let’s see if Secret City Gold slot from Pragmatic Play can net us enough to get our own set!

Gameplay

Wowsers! As soon as you get past the splash screen, the soundtrack kicks in and it’s a doozy! It got me all fired up with its sweet electronic strains, haunting vocals, and dramatic effects each time I hit the SPIN button.

The setting for Pragmatic’s latest game is in the jungle, and it has an Aztec or Mayan feel to it. It doesn’t differentiate itself from competitors in this genre, and it’s certainly not as innovative or as cool as Xibalba slot, but that’s fine. There’s more to life than looks (can’t believe I said that).

This is a serious game, though, offering a 96.06% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate., 25 paylines, a high volatility rate, and a max win of €350,000. There are 3 currencies you won’t be able to play with – Japanese yen, Bitcoin Cash, and Tether – but the rest are all good to go.

The Wild symbol substitutes for all symbols other than the Scatter and you’ll find it on all the reels.

Features

SHAPE WINS:

With every spin, there’s a chance that a random shape will appear on the reels. If that happens, all symbols inside the shape will transform into the same random symbol.

This will boost your chances of a win, which will also be increased by a random multiplier of 1x to 10x.

FREE SPINS:

Landing 3 or more Scatter symbols – which appear on all the reels and pay in any position – is what gets you into the Free Spins round (you’ll get 8 spins). You can get an additional spin for each extra Scatter you pull in.

The multiplier that comes with your spins will depend on how many Scatters you land: 3 Scatters = 2x your total bet, 4 Scatters = 10x, and 5 Scatters = 50x.

Just like in the base game, random shapes can appear and will also get a random multiplier. This will get added to a general multiplier that’s applied to the wins of both current and future shapes.

BUY BONUS:

You can scoot on over to the Free Spins round for a fee of 85x your bet.

Performance

I gave Secret City Gold slot a thorough shake-down during testing and never once did it set a foot wrong. I tried it on various browsers and devices, and it consistently delivered a sterling performance.

Maximum Win

If it’s Aztec gold you’re after, then you’ve come to the right place. There’s €350,000 up for grabs here, but not only that, the multiplier is also generous, at 10,000x. Betting starts at €0.25 and is capped at €35.

Conclusion

The user interface for Secret City Gold slot is excellent. There’s never any doubt as to what’s going on, how many Free Spins you have, or how the Shape Wins work. And that clarity – along with the bold and sizeable symbols and grid – makes this a fantastic game for mobile play.

Couple that with the impressive stats, and you’ve got yourself a solid game that delivers in spades. The only downside for some players will be the features – there are only 2 and they’re not exactly cutting edge. But if you are OK with that, then there’s no reason not to try this game.
