Soju Bomb Slot Review

South Africans are a crazy bunch. We have this machismo thing where everyone must be better, or more extreme, than the next person, and that applies to drinking too.

There was this spate of videos on social media of local guys cracking open bottles of whiskey or brandy (known as Karate Coffee here because someone’s gonna get his teeth rammed down his throat after a few) and downing the entire thing.

Saving face means you can’t back out, and not even liver failure or alcohol poisoning is as worrisome as your mate, girlfriend, or wife making fun of you if you fail.

Luckily, Koreans are nowhere near the level of aggressive, egotistical heathens we are so I’m expecting that Soju Bomb slot from Habanero will be a somewhat more chilled affair.

Gameplay

Soju is a colorless distilled alcohol from Korea, that ranges in potency from 12.9% to a liver-obliterating 53%. It’ll come as no surprise then that the setting for this slot is a funky bar.

The low-paying symbols are different-colored shots, while the high-paying symbols represent the fruit that would presumably be used to flavor them. Is it me, or does that lime look like it needs to get slapped with an age restriction? Maybe it’s just been a while.

The mobile experience of Soju Bomb slot isn’t great. In portrait mode, the 5x3-reel grid is squished at the top of the screen, so there are a lot of distracting shapes and colors at the bottom. In landscape mode, the grid becomes even smaller.

The Wild looks like 3 beers with great, foamy heads and they’ll replace all symbols save for the Soju Bomb Scatters. The latter, incidentally, pay wherever they land and when they do, the amount will be multiplied by the total bet.

The stats are cocktail-like – in other words, it’s a mix. The good comes in the form of the 243 paylines, the 96.64% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
, and there are no currency limitations either.

The bad part – like a shot of Tabasco-infused Tequila – is the €82,150 max win, which is super low for a high-volatility game.

Features

SOJU BOMB FEATURE:

Land 3 or more Soju Bomb Scatters to trigger this round. You’ll be faced with a hottie with shot glasses balancing on top of some beer glasses in front of her.

Your job is to drag your mouse pointer across these (and throw in a jiggle for good measure) in order to disturb the equilibrium.

The shot glasses that fall into the beer glasses award 5 to 15 Free Spins, and the second round awards 1x to 11x multipliers. After you’re gifted these, the Free Spins round starts automatically.

For the record, Soju Bomb symbols don’t appear during Free Spins and the feature can’t be re-triggered.

Performance

There was no sound when I was testing Soju Bomb slot. Not that I was unhappy about it – I usually mute the soundtracks anyway. Besides this anomaly, I had no issues on my phone or laptop.

Maximum Win

This isn’t the game you wanna play if you’re out to score big bucks, or if you don’t have deep-ish pockets. You can only make €82,150 at best, and the 1,643x max multiplier isn’t the biggest help.

As a result, you’ll need to cough up €50 per spin if you hope to score the top prize. If that’s too much, then drop your betting to €0.25 or anything in between.

Conclusion

OK, let’s run through what’s come out in the wash.

The theme and visuals of Soju Bomb slot aren’t exactly earth-shattering.

The max win is tiny, given the game’s volatility.

There’s only one feature really, and it literally took me hundreds of spins to trigger it. And that meant a lot of frustration and boredom.

For me, there aren’t many compelling reasons to play this game. And I don’t think that even a dedicated South African alcoholic would be so invested in the theme as to push through the negatives.
