Street Magic Slot Review
I hate street magic. I really really hate it. To me, there’s nothing more affronting than a random eyeliner wearing man coming up to me and trying to make me ‘pick a card.’ Like, is that a new pick up line I don’t know about? The entire phenomenon is bizarre, and I don’t trust it. Look, I’m sure lots of people absolutely adore close-up magic, but to my introverted ass, it’s more of a nuisance than anything else. Also, would you usually give your watch to a stranger? No! So why on earth would you give it to a stranger who just happens to be dressed like Chris Angel? It just doesn’t make any goddamn sense, and I’m not having any of it. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, and goodnight.
Gameplay
Street Magic is a 5-reel, 20-payline video slot powered by software from Play'n Go. The game is inspired by street magicians, and the tricks and illusions they pull off to fool the unsuspecting public. It’s clear that I really don’t like street magicians, but I actually did enjoy this slot. It has loads of fun symbols and features, and the goofy looking magician made me laugh a lot (at him, not with him). He’s the game’s Scatter, so keep your eye on him, while the Wild is represented by a deck of playing cards. Other symbols include handcuffs (oooh kinky), a lock and key, a pocket watch, a ring, a sword, and the four card suits (clubs, diamonds, spades, and hearts). The controls aren’t trying to trick you with the simplicity, so don’t stress too much. Still, I’ll go through them on more time. From left to right: Information, Balance, preset bets ranging from 0,20 to 100, Spin and Auto Play.
Features
Pick a feature, any feature! Seriously though, Street Magic has a couple of tricks up its sleeve including:
Wild: When a Wild lands during Free Spins, it’ll become sticky and stay on the reels throughout the feature. Additional spins are awarded when a wild lands on each of the reels, potentially triggering 4, 6 or 8 extra spins - this feature can only be re-triggered once.
Unique Features
Street Magic has some unique features to go with it’s clears throat unusual theme.
Scatter: Two scatters will trigger one of three random magical performances on the reels: The Expanding Man, The Wild Shuffle and the Transporting Man. During The Expanding Man, both Magician symbols expand to full length Wild reels. The Transporting Man will force another Scatter symbol appearing on the reels to trigger Free Spins. Furthermore, the Wild Shuffle will deal 4 Wild Symbols in random positions on the reels.
Magician: Landing 3 Magician symbols will trigger 8, 10 or 12 Free Spins. This offers you a winning potential of up to 5000x your original stake.
Performance
I actually really enjoyed this game. Everything from the intro, the graphics, and the soundtrack drew me in and had me thinking I was some kind of Dynamo. It’s also available for gameplay on any device, although I particularly enjoyed it on my tablet.
Conclusion
I probably need to stop being so nasty about street magicians because, shock and horror, I really enjoyed being one for a little while. Play’n Go did a really fantastic job on this game, and I was hooked from the start. I still think street magic as a concept is incredibly cheesy, but I can’t be quite as disparaging about it as I used to be. Skeptics and magic diehards alike should give this game a whirl, but prepare to have your mind (and your pockets) blown.
