Stumpy McDoodles 2 Slot Review
I’m always on the lookout for new drinking games, and my latest one is called Stumpy. It’s been called “a redneck game” where all the participants have a nail partly hammered into a tree trunk and a drink in hand.
Each player must flip and catch the hammer mid-air and then hit someone else’s nail. Dropping the hammer or missing a nail means you also miss a turn. The last nail standing denotes the winner.
Quickfire had something else in mind when they came up with Stumpy McDoodles 2 slot, though. This one’s less about inebriation and more about the moolah. Let’s check it out.
Gameplay
I think I’ve finally dealt with the trauma of all those St. Patrick’s Day games so I’m ready to tackle Stumpy McDoodles 2 slot.
The 5-reel grid doesn’t take over proceedings like you get on many other games. It’s more refined and because the reels are borderless, it allows symbols to breath.
Load this game on your phone in portrait mode and you’ll be in for a treat (landscape doesn’t look as good). The Free Spins meter moves to the top of the screen, the grid takes up half of the real estate, and the controls at the bottom are easy to discern and use.
There’s €232,000 up for grabs on this game, which is on the money for a high-volatility rate (some might argue it could be a bit better still), and the action happens across 40 paylines.
However… the fly in the ointment is that only fiat currency is accepted.
Features
While you’re playing the base game, a pot of gold can randomly appear and when it does, it’ll add 3 to 12 Wilds to the reels. Wilds replace all symbols other than the Scatter and Stumpy Treasure symbols.
STUMPY TREASURE:
Landing one of these treasure chest symbols on reel 5 could see you rewarded with 1x to 100x your bet. The Stumpy Treasure symbol also only appears during the base game.
FREE SPINS:
Landing 2 Scatter symbols gets you a gold cauldron, and you’ll need to collect these to increase the number of Free Spins. And you can do this before the round gets underway.
1 cauldron = 8 Free Spins
4 cauldrons = 10 Free Spins
8 cauldrons = 12 Free Spins
12 cauldrons = 15 Free Spins
16 cauldrons = 25 Free Spins
If you don’t collect any cauldrons, you’ll still get 6 Free Spins when you land 3 Scatters on reels 2, 3, and 4.
FREE SPINS GROWING WILD:
Free Spins start with 1 Wild visible on the reels. The Wild can shift positions with each spin and if you score a Wild Coin, it’ll add 2 extra spins to your tally. Not only that, but it will increase the size of the Wild so that it covers multiple positions.
SUPER WILDS:
A Super Wild is when that symbol grows to fill an entire reel. Super Wilds award 5-of-a-kind wins for the duration of the Free Spins round.
Performance
I ain’t got no complaints with ol’ Stumpy from a performance side of things. I played it on my iPhone and my MacBook Pro and didn’t experience a single glitch or buffer.
Maximum Win
You can win €232,000 on this game if you land the 11,600x multiplier while betting at the max of €20. Speaking of betting, the range isn’t all that broad (it starts at €0.20), but it’ll be fine for most people.
Conclusion
It’s not bad, this one. Those 3 to 12 extra Wilds, along with the Stumpy Treasure, help break up the monotony of the base game.
The 5x5 Super Wilds aren’t easy to come by (which is unsurprising) but they can give the wallet a bulge that would elicit a wink and a thumbs up from Mia Khalifa (don’t act like you don’t know who she is, okay).
It’s a solid offering from Quickfire but I guess it would help if you loved leprechauns or are at least indifferent to them.
