Man, the only kind of teamwork I’m interested in is being Ken to Margot Robbie’s Barbie. Except I’d be a paunchy, creepy version, who wears wife beaters and is covered in ink.

I will close this intro with a solemn question: why does Barbie smell like fish? Because Australians keep throwing shrimp at her. đŸ€đŸŠ

Gameplay

They say it’s good to get out of your comfort zone but what sweet hell have I landed in? From the saccharine music to the candied symbols and our butter-wouldn’t-melt-in-her-mouth Witch, it’s all too much for my sinister ass to take.

However, I’ll press on. I hope you appreciate the sacrifices I make for you, my dear readers. Never let it be said that I’m not a selfless author.

Something I have to mention upfront is how good the game looks on a phone when held vertically (landscape mode is awesome, too). There are very few distractions and the design is super clean; making this a fantastic option for on-the-go play.

This game works like this: in order to win, you’ll need to remove Heart, Sugar Cube, Bean, or Donut symbols from the grid by forming winning combos.

Clearing all symbols – except during the Trinity feature – results in a 50x multiplier applied to your total bet. This is known as the Clear Grid Prize.

Wins are achieved when 3 or more matching symbols appear in a row – either horizontally or vertically. Winning symbols get removed and the remaining symbols will drop down (like a Tumble feature). For each of these drops, the win multiplier will be increased.

The Wild gumball type replaces all symbols and Wilds will be removed from the grid if no other symbols are left.

Let’s close off with the stats so that we can get into the rest of the goodies:

  • Berry: Can add extra symbols to the reels; increasing your chance of triggering Free Spins

TRINITY METER:

The Meter to the left of the grid gets charged by accumulating high-paying wins – much like you’d find in Moon Princess Trinity slot. Once filled to the brim, the Meter will trigger the Trinity feature.

You'll be granted a re-spin if you can perform all three Witch’s powers in quick succession. The caveat is that the multiplier is reset before this re-spin starts.

TRINITY FEATURE:

When this round starts, Berry, Cherry, and Apple perform their witchy thing in a single re-spin. If you clear the grid now, you’ll trigger the Free Spins round.

FREE SPINS WITH RANDOM MULTIPLIERS:

You’ll need to clear the game grid during the Trinity feature to get into this round. You’ll then be able to choose your favorite broomstick-riding honey and your choice will determine how many spins you’ll be awarded, as well as the reel modifier.

The win multiplier is limited to 100x and the number of Free Spins you can get is also capped, although the studio hasn’t listed how many that is.

Performance

Sweet Alchemy 100 slot did exactly as it was supposed to; irrespective if I changed device or browser. Nice.

Maximum Win

Check out the max multiplier in this game: it’s a whopping 15,000x! And that means that if you bet at €10 – which is what it's capped at and thus won’t kill your budget too quickly – you could clinch €150,000.

The problem is that this top prize is not great considering the game has a high volatility rate. đŸ„č

Conclusion

Sweet Alchemy 100 slot is part of a series of 4 games released by Play’n GO so clearly they’re doing something right. The problem is, I think they screwed the pooch, as they say, with that max win/volatility rate combo.

Gameplay is never too dull thanks to the reel modifiers and the Tumble feature thingy that we’ll call the Reactor here. There are enough features to keep this game entertaining so while I will constantly whine about wanting a Buy Bonus option, I didn’t miss it too much this time around.

Mobile players will absolutely love how this game looks but I wouldn’t recommend it to really green newbies. Maybe get to grips with some simpler games first, especially those with lower volatility rates.
