Tanked Slot Review

Think tanks are put together to tackle the world's most challenging issues, like controlling the weather with giant space mirrors. Or like old Elon and his dreams of uploading peoples' brains into computers or colonizing space🧑‍🚀.

But then you get ones that come up with crazy ideas, like exploring the ethical and scientific boundaries of creating human-animal hybrids, like in a real-life sci-fi horror like The Fly🪰.

And then you get the team who came up with Tanked slot from Nolimit City. I don't know if they're boundary-pushing visionaries or straight evil geniuses😈. Either way, I wish I could be a fly on the wall when they're coming up with their games.

Gameplay

True to Nolimit City's name, all currencies are welcome in Tanked slot, where you can bet as low as $0.20 and as high as $14. The maximum multiplier is 25,000x, and the game is capped at $350,000.

This game takes place on a ravaged battlefield with 6 reels and a 4-6-6-6-6-4 row configuration. There are 4 characters in the style of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth driving tanks that move around and collect matching color diamond symbols to award cluster pays.

The remaining symbols on the reels will drop down to fill the gaps left by the collect symbol, and new symbols will drop in to fill the reels again. This continues until the characters can't collect any more symbols. On the next spin, the grid is cleared, and new symbols drop in.

A Wild symbol, a star, can be picked up by any of the tank drivers. Bullet crate symbols also appear and carry multiplier values that multiply the character payouts. Then, there is the beer Bonus symbol that can trigger free spins.

Possible values are 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 20x, 50x, 100x, 200x, 500x, and 1,000x. If more than 1 Multiplier is picked up, they're added together.

There are also 4 Tank Boosters: rocket, grenade, power drill, and airstrike symbols that the drivers can pick up along the way to trigger different modifiers. Before I explain them, this game has high volatility and offers a 96.04% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate..

Features

TANK BOOSTERS

  • Rocket: The character that picked it up will fire the rocket at the side of the reels closest to a random enemy character, clearing a 4x4 area of symbols and destroying the enemy.
  • Grenade: The character will throw the grenade at a random enemy, removing all symbols and the enemy in a 3x3 space.
  • Power Drill: The character adds the drill to the front of their tank and moves to the largest cluster of its matching symbols, collecting Tank Boosters, Multipliers, and - Bonus symbols. If the character has nowhere to move, it will blow up and clear a 3x3 space of the reels.
  • Airstrike: The character will destroy up to 3 enemies and all the symbols vertical and horizontal to it.

If any of the characters are removed by a Tank Booster, they're destroyed and lose 1 of their 3 lives, and will reappear on the next spin. If a character collected a Tank Booster but was killed before it could use it, it will reappear with it.

Explosions don't affect Bonus, xSplit, xNudge, or Wild symbols.

xBOMB & BARREL BOMBS

The xBomb symbol is a jerry can, and it explodes when no character can move, or any Tank Boosters can be triggered. This removes a 3x3 space on the reels, allowing new symbols to drop in and increasing the Win Multiplier by 1x.

The Barrel symbol explodes under the same circumstance, but it increases the size of the reels by 1 step.

BOOMS

When 3 Character symbols are next to each other and can't move, they explode and remove symbols in a 3-5-5-5-3 area, allowing new symbols to drop in. If all 4 characters are next to each other and cannot move, they explode, clearing a 5x5 area and increasing the reels by 1 step.

KILL COUNT

Whenever a character is killed, they lose 1 of their 3 lives. When they run out of lives, they are removed from the game until they're resurrected on the next win.

xNUDGE WILD

The xNudge Wild is a crate with an X on it that nudges down to the bottom position on the reel or hits a non-paying symbol. If there is no current Win Multiplier when it lands, it will set it to 2x, and for every position it nudges down, the value will increase by 1x.

xSPLIT

The circular saw symbol acts as the xSplit. It splits all symbols horizontally and vertically, doubles their size, and then converts them into a Wild. It will also double the value of any Multiplier symbols in its path.

GRID EXPANSION

The grid expands whenever a Rocket, Barrel Bomb, or Big Boom occurs. It expands in 4 steps.

  • Step 1: The grid expands from 6x6 to 8x6 or 6x8 if there is a horizontal or vertical expansion, respectively.
  • Step 2: The grid expands from 6x8 or 8x6 to 8x8.
  • Step 3: The grid expands from 8x8 to 9x8 or 8x9 if there is a horizontal or vertical expansion, respectively.
  • Step 4: The grid expands to its maximum 9x9 size.
    If an xBomb or Barrel Bomb is in the explosion pattern of a Tank Booster, the grid will expand to 9x9 directly.

FREE SPINS

There are 3 variations of Free Spins in this game.

  • Carnage Spins: Triggered by 3 Bonus symbols, you're awarded 5 Free Spins where the Multipliers, Kill Count, and grid size carry over from the base game.
  • Carnage Royale: Landing 4 Bonus symbols will award 7 Free Spins. The Kill Count carries over, the grid is set at 9x9, and a 5x multiplier is added to your Win Multiplier from the base game.
  • Mayhem Spins: If all 4 characters die in the same explosion during either of the other Free Spins, you're upgraded to Mayhem Spins. During this round, characters only have 1 life, and you're awarded 10x on top of your current multiplier.

You can retrigger this feature by killing all the characters in the same explosion again and receive another 10x added to your current Win Multiplier.

BYOB!

There is a 3x3 Max Win symbol with a banana on it that can land fully or partially on the reels. If it lands fully on the reels, you win a maximum of 25,000x your bet.

BONUS BUY

You can ensure a Max Win symbol appears on the next base game spin for 5,000x your bet.

ANTE BET

For 3x your base bet, you can improve your odds of triggering Free Spins by 4x. For 40x your bet, the game will distribute 4 random Tank Boosters on the reels.

Performance

Despite my best attempts, I couldn't find a glitch or malfunction throughout my playthrough.

Maximum Win

The top prize in this game is 25,000x your bet, which can lead to the game's max win of $350,000 if you're playing with the biggest bet of $14. The smallest you can bet is $0.20.

Conclusion

This is an entirely bonkers game that is hard to compare to any other. The only games I've encountered that use characters to move around and collect symbols and trigger features are the Pirot slot series.

However, those games only offer 10,000x max multipliers and are capped at $200K, so even they fall short of the Tanked slot's top prize.

The game is action-packed and can be chaotic at first, but once you've figured out what does what, it's deceptively simple. The number of Free Spins you can win is not the highest, and I wish they offered more.

The humor in this game might not be to everyone's tastes, but I'm a bit of a sicko, so I love it. And it's tame compared to some of Nolimit City's other offerings. This is a fantastic new addition if you dig Nolimit games.

And if you haven't played their games before, this is actually a great introduction.
