I grew up and learned how to drive in South Africa, where manual cars are much more common than automatics. So, I took my driver's test in a manual, and I’ve always driven one.

So, combine the speeding and the blindness, and I can be one hell of a liability on the roads (no crashes yet, but I kind of feel like that’s just pure luck).

Luckily, misery loves company, and I felt right at home among the other driving vagabonds in Belatra Games’s new The Night Racing slot.

Gameplay

I’m kind of obsessed with The Fast and the Furious franchise. And while I enjoy most of them, my ultimate fave must be Tokyo Drift.

I know, it’s a little expected, right? But that movie’s just too cool to hate on. The soundtrack, the cars, the exceptionally hot cast – you really can’t do better.

So, it was with total glee that I discovered that The Night Racing slot seems to be inspired by that movie. We’ve got sick cars, hot girls, DILFs, and more neon than the inside of a Vegas titty bar.

The game takes place on 5 reels and 25 paylines, so a pretty standard layout. The reels are covered with awesome graphics, including a range of special symbols I’ll cover down the line.

The controls are a little different from the usual fare – for example, you’ll press the big “S” to the right of the screen to spin the reels.

Honestly, I’m not sure what Belatra was thinking with these stats. We’ve got a genuinely awful RTP of 94.41%, combined with a medium volatility rate.

The maximum win is set at just €20,000, courtesy of the 2,000x multiplier. And the bet limits don’t offer much excitement either, ranging from €0.25 to €10.

Features

While The Night Racing slot doesn’t have the best stats, it’s still a lot of fun, thanks to the range of features on offer.

WILD

Starting off, we’ve got the Wild symbol, represented by a hot babe in a red latex catsuit. She’ll substitute for the regular symbols and lands on reels 2, 3, and 4.

When one of these symbols lands, it’ll expand to cover the entire reel and trigger a Free Spins round. For every Free Spins round, the Wild will shift one place to the left until it reaches the leftmost reel.

The maximum number of Free Spins you’ll get during this round is 20.

BONUS

Landing 3 or more Scatters triggers the Bonus Game. During this feature, you’ll score 3 spins of the mini-reels.

The current round will start over if one new Scatter symbol lands during the Bonus Game. A collection of special symbols are active during this feature, each with a different function.

2000: A credit symbol – it will land and stick on the mini-reels, awarding credits.
30 Boost: Adds 10 or 30 points to the speedometer.

Landing the 30 Boost symbol during the Bonus Game will add 10 or 30 points to the Speedometer above the reels. Once you reach 70 points, the Grand Prix Jackpot prize will be awarded.

CRAFT BONUS

The Craft Bonus is effectively just a Buy Bonus feature. You can choose to purchase the Bonus round for a fee determined by your total bet. The higher the price, the better your chance of scoring big wins.

RISK GAME
At the end of each winning spin, you’ll have the opportunity to gamble your payout. There are 2 options here, Card Double with Dealer and Red-or-Black Risk Game.

Remember that choosing to gamble your winnings could result in the loss of your payout, but that’s the game, I suppose.

Performance

I tried The Night Racing slot out on my iPhone 13 and MacBook Pro (yes, I’m a bit of an Apple fangirl) and encountered no problems with it on either.

You’re also spoiled for choice when it comes to your preferred browser. Safari, Chrome, and Firefox posed no challenge for this game.

Maximum Win

The Night Racing slot falls short here. The maximum win is just €20,000 - barely enough to fill your tank with gas nowadays.

Conclusion

The Night Racing slot is initially impressive thanks to the flashy graphics, cool sound effects, and seemingly endless features. However, if we get into the nitty-gritty, it’s clear that this slot skimps on the important stuff – payouts and game stats.

A €20,000 max win hardly seems worth showing up for, and the 94.41% RTP rate is equally underwhelming. However, if you’re looking for a fun game that doesn’t take itself seriously, The Night Racing slot might be just right for you.
