The Shining Globe Deluxe Slot Review
You've heard a black cat 🐈⬛ crossing your path is bad luck, but on England's Yorkshire coast it went the other way around. Fishermen's wives kept black cats at home, believing they'd bring their husbands back safe from the North Sea.
Demand got so high that black cats got pricey, and then they started going missing. Grown women were swiping each other's cats off the doorstep, all to keep the fishing 🎣 boats coming home.
The Shining Globe Deluxe slot from CT Interactive has one too, and nobody's swiping this one. He's a green-eyed, smug-looking bastard but all I need him to do is bring me good fortune - with money, not fishing boats, just so we’re clear.
Gameplay
This studio isn't known for its amazing design language, and here we have another example of subpar aesthetics. But of course, we're not here for the looks, we're here for the substance, so let's see if there is any.
The 5x3 grid has 20 paylines, the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. is 96%, volatility is high, and the max multiplier is 3,250x. The max win is $162,500, with bets running from $0.20 to $50. Only fiat currencies and Tether (USDT) can be used in this game.
At the bottom of the paytable, the Yellow Potion, Purple Potion, and Red Potion symbols all pay the same 0.1x for 3, 0.5x for 4, and 2.5x for 5 of a kind.
The Owl and the Black Cat pay 0.25x, 1x, and 5x. The Cauldron starts at the same 0.25x and 1x, then jumps to 10x for 5 of a kind.
The Witch sits on top, paying 1x, 10x, and 50x, and she's also the Wild. She substitutes for all symbols except the Globe Scatters.
Each Scatter carries a number (1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 30x, 600x, or 3,000x), and they run on Scatter PaysWhen a certain number of Scatters land, that can result in a payout that’s independent of a game’s paylines. of their own. Land 6 or more anywhere on screen and you're paid the sum of their numbers, multiplied by your total bet.
The 5x Globe only shows up in the base game, while the 30x, 600x, and 3,000x are saved for the Free Spins. The 1x, 2x, and 3x work both shifts.
There's a nice nudge in here too. If there are 2 Scatters after a reel stops, that reel gets nudged to reveal the third.
Features
FREE SPINS:
Land at least 6 Globe Scatters during the base game and you get 10 Free Spins. That's on top of the Scatter win those Globes already paid you.
The 30x, 600x, and 3,000x Globes only appear in this round, and whenever a 30x lands on the 3rd reel, it may change to 600x or 3,000x at random.
Any 6 or more Globes still pay their sum times your total bet, and in this round they also hand you 10 more spins.
GAMBLE:
After any win under 10x your total bet, you can hit DOUBLE (X2) to gamble it.
A face-down card sits in the middle of the screen. Call red or black correctly and the gambled amount is multiplied by 2. Call the suit and it's multiplied by 4. Get either one wrong and the gambled amount is gone.
There's a strip showing the 10 previous cards, HALF GAMBLE puts only half your win at risk, and CANCEL lets you collect whenever you've had enough.
Doubling is capped at 50x your total bet. Hit that and the game collects for you and sends you back to the reels.
Performance
There's no magic in this game, simply good old-fashioned software, which I'm happy to report did its job flawlessly.
Maximum Win
Put the max multiplier of 3,250x on the $50 top bet and the max win comes to $162,500. The minimum bet is $0.20.
Conclusion
The Globes carry the game, cuz the line wins barely register. Having said that, a screen full of Witches across all 20 paylines gets you 1,000x, but let’s be honest; how often will we see such a miraculous occurrence?
Getting to 3,250x (the max multiplier, which is woefully inadequate for a highly volatile game btw) is a long chain of events. You need the biggest Globe, which only turns up in Free Spins, either on its own or when a smaller one on reel 3 decides to change.
Then at least 5 more Globes have to land with it to make 6, adding up to something like 250x between them.
The Gamble featureThis feature allows you to gamble your current winnings. It usually takes the form of guessing what color and/or suit a facedown card will reveal itself to be. A correct guess on the color pays 2x, while a correct guess of the color and suit pays 4x your bet. is your only optional extra, and it only touches small wins before it stops doubling. One wrong call wipes it out. Color is a 1-in-2 guess and suit is 1-in-4, so if I gambled at all, I'd use HALF GAMBLE on the color bet and leave the suits alone.
High-risk players who can handle dry spells while they wait for 6 Globes, and then for that Globe to flip on reel 3, are the right crowd for this game.
