Everyone who saw The Matrix for the first time was carrying on about the philosophical implications of the movie. Me, I was too busy drooling 🤤 on my T-shirt after I saw Carrie-Anne Moss in her PVC outfit.

Yep, if Trinity had stepped out of the TV and asked me to do anything, I’d be powerless to resist. I’d have bought her whatever she wanted. But then again, Trinity had no need for money 💰, unlike me.

Which brings me, in a weird and maybe not so wonderful way, to our next game, Trinity Cash Coins slot from Fugaso. 🎰

Gameplay

I have high hopes for Trinity Cash Coins slot – the designers just slapped a black background behind the 5x3 grid, so all of the studio’s efforts must have gone into making this a kick-ass, money-making game. Right?

What I can say is that the minimalist design looks amazeballs on a mobile phone. Interestingly, the black background on my laptop transforms into purple on my phone. Both orientations look the bomb and you can use the battery saver function for longer sessions.

Coming back to my laptop view… to the left of the grid are the various Jackpots you can win: the Mini pays 15x, the Minor pays 30x, the Major pays 100x, and the Grand Jackpot pays 5,000x.

Above the reels are 3 modifiers: Boost (green), Collect (blue), and Double (red) – more on these later.

The Joker Wild lands on reels 2 to 5 and substitutes for all symbols other than Bonus ones. If you’re hoping that 5OAK (5-of-a-kind) symbols pay well, you’ll be sorely mistaken. The best payout, for five 7s, is 5x.

Bonus symbols come in the form of greenbacks on a golden disc. These land on any reel but only pay during the Trinity Link game, and they come in green, blue, and red – meaning they’re linked to the reel modifiers.

Whenever one or more of the Bonus symbols hit, there’s a random chance that the Trinity Link feature will initiate.

The triggering modifiers – you can have combinations of 1, 2, or 3 of them at the same time – will come into play and you’ll get 3 re-spins. As for what each modifier does, it goes like this:

Boost: Adds extra values to the symbols. The values could be 1x to 3x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, Mini, Minor, or Major Jackpot.

Collect: Grabs the visible Bonus symbol values.

Double: Increases the Bonus values by 2x. The red Bonus symbol can then take a random value of 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, Mini, Minor, or Major Jackpot.

You might also see a Mystery symbol land, which can randomly transform into a Bonus symbol or the Mini, Minor, or Major Jackpot.

Only Bonus symbols will land on the reels, and when this happens, it will reset the spin counter. The round ends when you run out of spins or fill all of the grid positions (in the latter case, you’ll have won the Grand Jackpot).

BUY BONUS:

Pay 100x for the Random Trinity Link feature (you get a random number of modifiers) or go crazy and pay 300x for the Super version.

Regarding the latter, you get all 3 modifiers, plus you could land a Mystery symbol. The latter wasn’t mentioned specifically on the product sheet, and sometimes I got a Mystery symbol, while at other times I didn’t. It is shown along with the modifiers when you accept the Super Buy Bonus.

Performance

Testing on all of my devices and browsers revealed no issues with Trinity Cash Coins slot.

Maximum Win

The max multiplier is 10,000x, the max win is $250,000, and betting ranges from $0.20 to $25.

Conclusion

The modifiers we encounter in this game create multiplicative, rather than additive, wealth during the Trinity Link feature. And it’s just as well, because the base game action is poor – just have a look again at what 5-of-a-kind symbols will pay you; it’s terrible.

What you need to be prepared for is that with a 20% hit frequency (80% of spins result in nada), weak base game payouts, and the randomness of the Trinity feature, this could mean significant dry spells.

We don’t know what the feature hit rate is, but all roads lead to Rome – namely that we have to seriously consider the Buy Bonus options if we wanna make bank.

We’re missing some critical info (the organic hit rate for the main feature, the organic probability of hitting 3 modifiers if we opt for the random, 100x Buy Bonus), so it’s tough to say which one to opt for. Clearly, your bankroll and appetite for risk will guide you.

But what is crystal clear is that Trinity Cash Coins slot is all about the Buy Bonus, which may or may not suit your style.
