Ultra Hold and Spin Slot Review

We go on a trip down memory lane to yet another classic fruit-themed slot in Ultra Hold and Spin, but there are a few twists to the gameplay that differs from what you would expect from a classic fruit-themed slot. For starters, there's a Bonus Respin Feature and expanding Wild that will lead you to ultra wins. Boy, I just loved fruit-themed slots. Not. Let's get down to it, shall we?

Gameplay

Ultra Hold and Spin is a 3x3 reel, 5 payline video slot powered by Pragmatic Play software. Symbols include X's, Cherries, Oranges, Plums, Stars, Strawberries, Watermelons, Bars, and 7s. Special Symbols include the expanding Fiery Wild and the Gold and Silver Crown Money Symbols that triggers the Hold and Respin Feature. More detail will be given in the Features section.

Controls are located at the bottom of the reels. Starting from the left, you will find a System Settings icon (3 horizontal lines), below that a Mute button, and next to that, an Information icon with the Paytable. On the bottom right is your Spin button with Autoplay below it and Bet increase and decrease buttons.

Features

Features in Ultra Hold and Spin include the expanding Fiery Wild and the Gold and Silver Crown Money Symbols that triggers the Hold and Respin Feature.

The expanding Fiery Wild substitutes for all symbols, except the Gold and Silver Crown Money Symbols, to form potential winning combinations. If it contributes to a win, it will expand to fill the entire reel.

Land 3 Gold or Silver Crown Money Symbols on reel 3 to trigger the Hold and Respin Feature, awarding 4 respins with the triggering Gold or Silver Crown Money Symbols held in place on a new grid. The reels are made up of empty spaces and Gold or Silver Crown Money Symbols only. If a new Gold or Silver Crown Money Symbol lands, it locks in position, and the respins reset to 4. This continues until you've played all your respins or fill all 9 positions on the grid with Gold or Silver Crown Money Symbols. You'll notice that each Gold or Silver Crown Money Symbol comes with a value attached, that are added together to give you your total prize. Look out for the special Diamond Symbol that awards 100x-500x your stake and only lands on reels 1 or 3.

Unique Features

Unfortunately, there are no unique features to this slot.

Performance

Considering that Ultra Hold and Spin is a 2020 released slot, there isn't anything innovative about this game besides the gameplay used in a classic fruit-themed slot. The gameplay has a striking resemblance to a Hold and WinThis feature plays out on a new screen. Typically, you get 3 re-spins (which could be re-triggered), and the triggering symbols usually stick to the position on which they land. Your objective is to land as many symbols as possible on the grid (you could land blank tiles, too). mechanic often seen in Booongo and Playson games. However, you can land some ultra wins here. The design, graphics, and animation are well. The volatility is medium-high, and RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

is at 96.7%.

Max Win

The max coin win is 500x your stake.

Conclusion

Ultra Hold and Spin's gameplay isn't innovative, but I will give credit where credit is due in the sense that you wouldn't expect the type of gameplay used for a fruit-themed slot. The biggest disappointment here is the measly Max Win potential considering the slot's volatility. Speaking of disappointment, my pizza has burnt to a crisp.
