Undead Fortune Slot Review
I reckon we can all agree that the ancient pharaohs were well-heeled. It’s difficult to tell which pharaoh was the wealthiest because tomb robbers have run off with almost all the booty, but Tutankhamun takes the cake as far as the richest tomb finds thus far.
The wealth that got excavated from his tomb is estimated to be worth three-quarters of a billion dollars. His coffin alone is thought to be worth $13 million!
But stories of curses abound, so are you brave enough to take on Undead Fortune slot from Hacksaw? It might just be worth your while.
Gameplay
It’s time to get our freaky on with this spooky Egyptian-themed offering from Hacksaw Gaming. It’s a few weeks until Halloween (as I write this), so this game – with its serpents, mummies, and bizarre creatures – is exactly what Michael Myers ordered.
The soundtrack didn’t irritate me for a change, and it was some time before the repetition made me reach for the MUTE button.
I like the design and the animations, but this isn’t a case of beauty over brains. Oh no, the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. tips the scales at 96.29% (nice), the volatility rate has been set to high, and as a result, the max win clocks in at a quarter of a million euros. Can I get a hell yeah?
If you’re wondering how many paylines we find on this 5-reel 4-row game, it’s 10. And as for the currency you can use on Undead Fortune slot, that’s unhappily limited to fiat.
Features
The Wild symbol appears on all reels and replaces the regular pay symbols. Land 5 of them on a winning payline and you’ll be awarded 10x your stake.
The main features of Undead Fortune slot are its duels, so let’s take a closer look at the two versions.
WALKING DUELS:
This feature will be activated when you land 1 or more Walk VS Scatter symbols on the reels. Landed Walk VS symbols turn into Wilds that become fully stacked.
When this transformation occurs, a monster and a multiplier (from 2x to 200x) will be revealed.
Should the monster be defeated (it’ll burst into flames), the multiplier gets applied to the whole reel and you’ll also be gifted a re-spin. The reel will now move one position to the left unless it’s at the edge of the grid or blocked by another Walk VS symbol.
Once in its new spot, another duel will take place and that process will keep repeating until the monster wins. When the monster wins, it’ll slash you and the multiplier will be erased. Boo hoo!
Oh, and if multiple Walking Duel Wilds are involved in a win, that means their multipliers will be added up and applied.
EXPANDING DUELREELS:
This feature kicks off if you land 2 to 5 Expand VS Scatters on reels 2 to 5. Only one of the Expand VS symbols can land at a time and just like above, the Expand VS symbols will turn into fully stacked Wilds with multiplier values (also ranging from 2x to 200x).
Things work exactly the same as in Walking Duels only this time, once a monster has been defeated, the reel expands one position to the left. In other words, you’ll now have 2 adjacent reels that are fully stacked and so on.
You’ll be paid out once all of the reels have been taken over.
BONUS ROUND:
By now you might have seen a Tomb or Curse symbol. When these land, they’ll turn into Wild symbols if they can be part of a winning combo.
The Curse: This bonus is activated when you land 3 or more Curse symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5. You’ll be given 10 Free Spins and have a better chance at landing Walk and Expand VS symbols.
The Tomb: This is triggered in a similar way; in other words, 3 or more Tomb symbols are needed on reels 1, 3, and 5. The festivities kick off with a multiplier above each reel, and you’ll also notice that some reels are locked while others aren’t.
Beating the monster adds a multiplier to the one above its reel, but if the monster slashes you, then the reel will lock. The feature comes to an end when all reels are locked. That said, if you land 4 unlock symbols or 1 golden unlock symbol on a locked reel, that’ll open it.
Then there’s the Epic VS symbol. Upon landing, the whole grid will become a dueling ground filled with monsters and multipliers. If you successfully win the battle, all the active reel values are increased by 2x to 20x, or a multiplier of 25x to 200x is applied.
BUY BONUS:
You can buy any of the following (as long as you have the moolah):
Bonus Featurespins: 3x your bet – each spin is 5x more likely to bring about the Bonus game (very high volatility)
Walking Duel Featurespins: 10x your bet – each spin guarantees at least 1 Walk VS symbol (very high volatility)
Expanding Duel Featurespins: 50x your bet – each spin guarantees 1 landed Expand VS symbol (extreme volatility)
The Curse: 100x your bet – very high volatility
The Tomb: 200x your bet – very high volatility
Performance
Zip, nada, nothing – there were no issues with Undead Fortune slot while I was testing. It flew through the umpteen spins I sent its way and didn’t hiccup or splutter when I changed browsers or devices.
Maximum Win
This is what I like to see: a 10,000x multiplier that lessens the burden on the player. You’ll need to keep betting at a continual €25 if you want a shot at landing the €250,000 max win, or you can download your stake to just €0.10.
Conclusion
When I started playing this game, I didn’t think it would impress me as much as it did. I knew the stats were good, but the features really make it sing. Not only are there a lot of them, but you can even buy whichever one you want.
The Curse seemed to bring better results for me, while The Tomb seemed way more difficult to get decent results on (but when they did happen, it was impressive).
Everything about this game is volatile, so that might not appeal to some, but it makes for a wild ride. And there’s nothing to beat the touch of drama as the reels expand and multiplier after multiplier is collected.
Definitely a two-thumbs-up slot, this. Good job, Hacksaw!
