Gameplay

Another day, another Viking-themed game. It seems that even ELK Studios are bored with the topic as they haven’t put much thought into the base game's concept or design. But things look a lot better once you crack open the Free Spins round.

The 6-reel, 6-row grid is perched between two columns and there are some hills in the background and some statues and water. Yeah, that’s about it.

But the magic happens beneath the skin – that’s where you’ll find the incredible paylines, starting at 4,096 and topping out at 531,441!

But the good stuff doesn’t end there. We have a Ragnar-sized max multiplier of 25,000x waiting to be captured, and a top prize worth €150,000. It’s not the world's largest purse, but the game has a medium to high volatility rate, so it’s in line with that.

The last three noteworthy things are the 94% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. The Thor Wild is a 2x2-sized symbol that is sticky during a single drop. Landing 2 or more Odin’s Ravens will turn these into Wilds (normally, they’re blocker symbols). Wilds replace all symbols other than Scatters, Loki, inactive Odin’s Ravens, and other Thor Wilds.

Spike symbols – look out for little arrows – that are part of a win will replicate themselves in the direction of the spike.

You could also see Big symbols of 2x2, 3x3, and 4x4 in size gracing the reels.

Loki is also a blocker symbol (look out for the icon with a horned helmet) and appears as a 2x2-sized symbol. It brings a different modifier to each win and the win will activate Loki for the remainder of the round.

These are the various modifiers that the Viking bad boy brings to the party:

  • Loki Multiplier: A 2x, 3x, 5x, or 10x multiplier is applied to the current win
  • Loki Both Ways: Wow, that sounds super dodgy… But it means a win is activated from left to right, or from right to left
  • Loki Spike Storm: Existing symbols can be transformed into Spike symbols
  • Loki Axe Fury: Random symbols are upgraded into the same symbol

FREE SPINS:

Landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 Scatters awards 10, 15, 20, or 25 spins respectively. These can be re-triggered by landing the same number of Scatters again.

Let’s circle back to the safety level – this is the minimum starting reel height when symbols fall down at the start of a spin. The Free Spin round kicks off with a safety level set to 5 rows high.

Each winning Avalanche increases the safety level by 1 row in height, up to 8. And, as I mentioned earlier, the last row is unlocked when a large symbol extends into it.

Loki modifiers will also apply to the Free Spins round, as they did during base game play.

Winning with a Loki modifier during Free Spins saves the modifier in an inventory to the left of the grid. The next time you win with the same modifier, it will become sticky for the remainder of the round.

If you save Loki multipliers in the inventory, that multiplier will boost all future wins, but you can also score additional multipliers to the original one. These will be added together and applied to your current win.

Both Ways modifiers stay active for the whole round if saved in the inventory. If a Spike Storm is saved, each Free Spin drop will include a Spike Storm, and you can even have multiple Spike Storms if Odin wills it.

You can also have multiple Axe Fury modifiers after the original one is saved in the inventory.
