Vatica - Voice of Lost Souls Slot Review
Back in 1890, a few creative businessmen in Baltimore patented a wooden board for talking to dead people 👻 and sold it as a parlor game.
With America having lost millions of people due to wars, illness and economic depression, wanting to communicate with family members who had died turned the Ouija Board 🔮 into a best-seller.
Over a hundred years later, you can still find the Ouija Board right next to games like Monopoly on the top shelf.
The same mystique can be found in Vatica - Voice of Lost Souls slot by Hacksaw.
Gameplay
Enter a torch-lit stone temple where rune-carved pillars glow pale blue on either side of the grid.
Playing on a 6x5 grid, the game uses Cluster PaysUnlike traditional paylines, Cluster Pays can award wins when a minimum number of matching symbols land adjacent to each other (vertically or horizontally), forming a cluster.. To create a win, you need 5 or more matching symbols connecting anywhere. Each win triggers a CascadeOtherwise known as a Tumble, Avalanche, or whatever a studio sees fit to name it. The idea is the same, though; winning symbols get removed, and new ones take their place. This action could result in additional wins, in which case the action continues., removing all winning symbols before dropping new ones from the top.
The top of the paytable belongs to the horned Head, paying up to 500x. Next up are the Lion and the Horse at 250x, while the Eagle and the Bull will pay up to 150x for a cluster of 26 or more.
Among the low-paying symbols you’ll find two gem-set Rings, a pair of drop earrings, a Hand Mirror, and an Amphora. All of them pay the same, from 0.1x up to 100x.
The Wild stands in for every paying symbol on the grid and can also carry a 1x-10x Multiplier. It pays on its own as well, with a full 30-symbol grid of them worth 1,000x and a cluster of 26 to 29 still good for 600x.
A quick look at the stats reveals a 96.27% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate., a medium/high volatility, a 10,000x max multiplier, and a $350,000 max win.
Features
VATICA SYMBOL AND VATICA'S GRASP
Every winning cluster leaves a Cursed Mark behind on the positions it just cleared, marks that stay put instead of clearing out the way a normal CascadeOtherwise known as a Tumble, Avalanche, or whatever a studio sees fit to name it. The idea is the same, though; winning symbols get removed, and new ones take their place. This action could result in additional wins, in which case the action continues. does.
When the Vatica Queen lands on a grid holding at least 1 Cursed Mark, the Vatica Grasp feature is triggered. This grabs 1 random symbol on the grid and turns the Vatica symbol plus every marked position into that symbol at once.
Grab a Wild or a Wild Multiplier symbol and the whole marked set turns Wild too, each carrying its own fresh multiplier value.
FREE SPINS
Land 3 or more matching FS Scatters anywhere on the grid to trigger Free Spins, with the number of spins matching the number of triggering symbols. You can pick up more spins along the way, as every 3 Scatters award 1 additional spin.
Which of the 2 rounds below you get comes down to which Scatter lands.
Relics of Eternity
The pink Scatter opens this round, and the Cursed Marks stop clearing between spins until Vatica's Grasp removes them, so marked positions can pile up across the whole round.
Judgement of the Underworld!
This version needs purple Scatters, and the Cursed Marks behave the same way. Vatica's Grasp can only grab a Wild, Wild Multiplier, or Scatter here, never a low- or high-pay, which keeps every grab pointed at the biggest multipliers.
BUY BONUS
The Buy Bonus menu has 4 options, ready to go. Bonushunt Featurespins (3x) is a toggle rather than a purchase, making the divine bonus 5x more likely to land on a given spin.
Oracles Featurespins (50x) is the same kind of toggle at a steeper price, guaranteeing at least one win plus a guaranteed Vatica symbol.
The other options, Relics of Eternity (100x) and Judgement of the Underworld! (300x) will take you straight to Free Spins.
Performance
The game loaded fast and ran a full session without a stutter, Cascades and Grasp triggers included. Whatever the queen has going on with the other side, none of her trouble leaked into the reels.
Maximum Win
Pocket the max win of $350,000 by landing the max multiplier of 10,000x on a $35 top bet. Players who prefer smaller bets can go as low as $0.10.
Conclusion
Keep an eye out for Vatica's Grasp, since every Cursed Mark a cluster leaves behind is a free copy of whatever the Grasp pulls next. A grid holding several marks that grabs a Wild Multiplier flips every one of those positions to Wild at once.
Getting anywhere near the 10,000x max multiplier means stacking several of those grabs inside Judgement of the Underworld!, where the Grasp only lands on Wilds, Wild Multipliers, and FS symbols.
That's a route you can picture, though it still takes a run of grabs falling right inside a single round.
At 96.27% the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. keeps a balance breathing long enough to settle in, so plan on a long stint rather than a quick visit.
What makes me look twice is a medium/high volatility rating carrying a 10,000x max multiplier, since a number that size normally comes with a high-volatility warning attached.
When it comes to the Buy Bonus, Bonushunt Featurespins is the easy call, priced low enough to shorten the hunt without buying anything outright.
Oracles Featurespins asks a lot more for the same style of nudge, so make sure you know what you’re getting.
Relics of Eternity and Judgement of the Underworld! take you straight to Free Spins, but nothing is guaranteed in terms of wins.
Players who bet big and have the patience for a Cluster PaysUnlike traditional paylines, Cluster Pays can award wins when a minimum number of matching symbols land adjacent to each other (vertically or horizontally), forming a cluster. grind are the ones who’ll appreciate the game the most, the kind who'll sit through a run of small marked Cascades for the Grasp chain that pays for the night.
Careful small-bet players should probably keep moving, because the trinket wins alone won't cover the ground between the big hits.
