Volatile Egypt Dream Drop Slot Review

I’m not sure why Fantasma decided to call their latest game Volatile Egypt Dream Drop slot – because it’s not exactly volatile. 🤷‍♂️ Unlike my ex-girlfriend, who used to go off like a landmine for the slightest thing.

She famously had a conniption because I greeted a shop assistant who greeted me first. Yeah, that was a fun three years of my life.

But you didn't come here to read about my relationship woes; you wanna know if this game is worth playing. Well, there’s only one way to find out.

Gameplay

Yessiree, it’s back to Egypt with us as we explore the inner sanctum of some long-forgotten tomb where Anubis mutely stands guard.

The mobile view in portrait mode is an impressive thing to cast your eyes upon, and even though the reels look on the small side, you can still see what’s going on without having to squint too much. Landscape mode is as you’d expect – a mini laptop view.

The high-paying symbols are of Horus (the falcon-headed), a female Pharoah – let’s call her Nefertiti – and a scarab beetle (naturally). Then the medium-paying symbols are the eye of Horus, a papyrus-type thing, the letter A, and the letter K.

That leaves Q, J, and 10 as the low-paying ones. The Bonus symbol is a Scatter and it lands on reels 2 to 4 in the base game.

Next up are the Multiplier Wilds. Putting in an appearance on reels 2 to 4 as well, these symbols substitute for all regular symbols. As the name implies, you’ll see that these Wilds carry multiplier values and they increase the line win that they’re a part of.

During the base game, the multiplier values are 3x, 4x, or 5x and you can have more than one Multiplier Wild, in which case their multipliers are multiplied.

Stats-wise, here’s a rundown on the important ones you need to know about: 15 paylines, an RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
of 94%
, a medium volatility rate, and a max win of €196,620 which is very generous. This is a fiat-only game so do take note, crypto folk.

Features

FREE SPINS:

Landing 3 Bonus symbols on reels 2 to 4 in the base game triggers this round. You’ll be shown a screen with 4 options on it and you’ll need to pick the one you prefer:

  • Option 1: 6 spins and a multiplier up to 336x
  • Option 2: 9 spins and a multiplier up to 210x
  • Option 3: 12 spins and a multiplier up to 120x
  • Option 4: 15 spins and a multiplier up to 60x
JACKPOT SPIN:

This bad boy is triggered randomly, with only DD symbols or placeholder tiles exclusively on the reels. If you land 5 DD symbols simultaneously now, that’ll set off the Dream Drop Bonus round.

DREAM DROP BONUS:

You could win one of 5 Jackpots – the Rapid, Midi, Minor, Major, or Mega Jackpots – by selecting 3 matching symbols from the 15 tiles you’ll be asked to click on.

The Mega and Major Jackpots are progressive (you’ll see to the left of the screen) and we’re not talking small change here – it’s like Pharoah-level moolah!

Performance

While the theme might be ancient, Fantasma's tech sure isn’t. It should come as no surprise then to hear that things went swimmingly while testing across all my devices.

Maximum Win

Betting on this game ranges from €0.20 to €30, and the latter – along with the 6,554x max multiplier – will bring in the top prize of €196,620.

Conclusion

It was way easier to trigger the Dream Drop Bonus round than to land the Free Spins feature – how often have you heard that said? And with no Buy Bonus option available, you simply have to wait it out.

It does mean that the base game can continue for on for what feels like an eternity, but that’s no different from most games. And, also not surprising, when I did land a Dream Drop Bonus round, I always won the Rapid (lowest) Jackpot. Oh, well.

What Volatile Egypt Dream Drop slot offers is pretty standard stuff. It’s not bad, it’s not exceptional, but it’s decent (said in a Bubbles/Trailer Park Boys voice).
