Wild Dolphin Slot Review
Riding dolphins might seem like a nice idea in theory but, I’m willing to bet that I wouldn’t be able to do it. Aside from the fact that riding dolphins in captivity is cruel, I’m kind of grossed out by their wet, slippery skin, and I’m reasonably sure I lack the upper body strength required to hang on to a swimming sea-mammal for any length of time. It just wouldn’t work, and I’ve made my peace with that.
Wild Dolphin is a 5-reel, 20-payline video slot powered by software from GameArt. This one is centered around marine life, so expect puffer fish, turtles, seahorses, lionfish, clownfish, and playing cards from 9 to Ace on the reels. The Wild is represented by a dolphin, while an oyster sporting freshly made pearls acts as the Scatter. The controls are very user-friendly, but let’s run through them quickly (or else my boss will have a nervous breakdown). From left to right expect Settings, Paytable (which shows how much the symbols are worth), Bet Per Line (from 0.10 to 1), Auto Play (which will spin the reels for you), Spin, Balance, Total Bet, and Win Display.
So, what features can you expect from Wild Dolphin? Gamble: To increase your winnings, you can click on the ‘gamble’ button, triggered after a winning round. All you must do is guess whether the face-down card is black or red. Guess right, and you’ll double your winnings, but get it wrong, and you’ll be sent back to the base game empty-handed.
Wild Dolphin has one unique feature, Free Spins. Basically, landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters anywhere on the reels will trigger 15 Free Spins with a x3 multiplier. This feature can be re-triggered, and any additional spins will be added to your current number.
I really enjoyed this slot and found the graphics to be particularly beautiful. They really capture the essence of marine life, and I think that’s admirable. Although the sound that the oyster Scatter makes when it lands is admittedly jarring, the rest of the soundtrack is wholly suited to the theme. Wild Dolphin is available on any device, but I particularly enjoyed it on my tablet.
Overall, this is another excellent release from GameArt. They never seem to disappoint anymore! Wild Dolphin has substantial payouts, fun features, and a theme that is sure to make even the most Thalassophobic person feel serene. Come for the dolphins, stay for the game. I know this is one I’ll be coming back to, that’s for sure.
