Wild Overlords Slot Review
You’ve heard of The Jungle Book, right? While Rudyard Kipling’s story sprung from his fertile imagination, there have been quite a few documented cases of humans being that were raised by animals.
As the wolf is one of the symbols in Wild Overlords slot by Evoplay, I thought the following would tie in rather nicely.
Kamala and Amala – better known as the wolf children – were discovered in India in 1920. Aged 3 and 8, respectively, the girls were rescued by a Rev. J. A. L. Singh who took them back to his orphanage.
Without going into too much detail, the reverend did later question his own judgment and often wondered if he should’ve left the girls with the wolf pack as he found them.
What’s that I hear? It’s the call of the wild!
Our grid is floating high among the clouds, with epic portals behind and to the side of it that are perched atop soaring cliffs.
It’s all a bit strange, given the fantasy game feel, the name of this slot, and the fact that the symbols on the reels are all “normal” animals. Now, if the tiger and the wolf are the overlords of the wild, that would be fine, except I don’t see where their companions, the bull and the really effeminate horse fit in. But anyhoo.
Wild Overlords slot rocks an RTP of 96.01%. The bet limits aren’t all that generous, starting at €0.10 and ranging to €50, but the multiplier is a very decent 6,100x.
The max win is even more impressive, at €305,000. As for the volatility, that hovers around the medium to high level.
Let’s get Wild for a second, shall we? This symbol substitutes for all, except the Mystery symbol. It also triggers the Mandala Respin, which we’ll get to in a moment.
During the base game, you’ll only see the lesser-spotted Wild on reels 2 and 4. Also, only 1 Wild can appear on a reel during a single round.
The Mystery symbol has a question mark in its center and has these gold, circular rings around it. You can land anything from 5 to 12 of these during the base game.
When they land, a Mystery symbol turns into regular symbols when the reels stop. They can’t, however, turn into Wilds. Oh, and you won’t get these during the Free Spins round.
As I mentioned, any Wild can set off a Mandala Respin. After a spin, when all of the wins have been awarded, Wilds will move horizontally by 1 place to reel number 3, and one Mandala respin is yours.
The Mandala respin's appearance brings Sticky Wilds and Big symbols (which take up a 2x2 symbol position on the reels).
The last feature for this game is our friend, Mr. Free Spins. If 2 Wilds merge, you’ll be gifted 8 Free Spins with a 1x multiplier. Now if the Big Wild makes an appearance, it means you’ll be the recipient of Magic Spins and a win multiplier increase by 1, up to 9x.
Nope, no glitches here. Worked a treat on all browsers and devices.
As is befitting our bestial overlords, this game’s top prize is a roaring €305,000.
Unsurprisingly, given the theme of this game, it’s all about the Wilds with this one. It’s infrequent that we see them served up like this, so there is a novelty element to it that’s pretty cool.
What’s also groovy is the max win and the multiplier. I must say, the medium/high volatility also appeals as it allows for more frequent wins, along with the ability to land the stonking big ones that the hardcore players are after.
If Wilds are your thing, and you’re looking for something a bit different, then give this one a go.
