I like babes with big guns, especially when they’re pointing straight at me in a gravity-defying fashion. To be fair, they don’t have to be that big, either – I can appreciate pert little Derringers as much as bazookas that take two hands to grasp firmly.
So, I was in heaven when I played Wild West Gold Megaways slot from Pragmatic Play. There’s something to be said for a female gunslinger who ain’t afraid to put one in the chamber.
Gameplay
Yee-haw! Unsurprisingly, given the theme, we find ourselves in a dirt street between a saloon and some other buildings. The 6 reels are filled with bags of gold, babes, six-gun-toting dudes, and even more shooting irons.
The graphics are well rendered but there’s barely a difference between this game and Pragmatic’s earlier release, Wild West Gold slot. Thankfully, the changes are under the skin – the giveaway being in the title as the new version is a Megaways slot now.
The OG version had 40 paylines, whereas this new one has up to 117,649 ways to win. The RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. has dropped a little though, from 96.51% to 96.44% for Wild West Megaways slot.

Three or more Scatters will get you 7 Free Spins, but Scatters also pay: 3 Scatters = 4x your total bet, 4 Scatters = 20x, 5 Scatters = 100x your bet, and 6 Scatters = 500x your total bet.
If a Wild hits during the Free Spins round, it will acquire a random multiplier (2x, 3x, or 5x) and it’ll also become sticky. Oh, and these Wilds will change size as the reels do.
SCATTER OVERLAY SYMBOLS:
Another sheriff's badge, albeit less elaborate, these symbols can randomly appear on top of any other symbol – including sticky Wilds – during Free Spins.

The new version looks way too similar to the OG, making me wonder if the studio was just lazy or if other factors led to this result. And my other gripe is that it’s not the best mobile experience (but certainly not the worst either).
Wild West Gold Megaways slot is still thin on the features front, but the addition of the Megaways mechanic from Big Time Gaming has taken it to a new level.
So, what you have here is a fairly simple game with massive win potential. And that makes it a winner in my books.
