Gameplay
This is going to be an interesting, and fairly complicated game, so grab a cup of coffee and strap yourself in.
Our 5-reel grid, which is in a 3-4-5-4-3 configuration, hovers above a thawing lake. Relax Gaming, in collaboration with Fantasma Games, has gone to town with the design, bringing in lots of colors and giving it a full-on wintery, yet fun feel.
It also looks the biz on a mobile device. There’s only one orientation you can view it in: portrait mode. The grid takes over all of the real estate, making it a good option if you like to take your games with you as it’s easy to see what’s going on.
But looks aren’t everything, so how do the stats stack up? Very well, in fact: the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. WINTER WILD:
When regular Snow Scatters land, their positions are marked by a silver frame. Now, if these symbols randomly turn into golden ones, the frames will take on that color, too. And that’s when the magic happens.
The Golden Frames will turn into Wilds on the very next spin. All adjacent positions, and even the ones next to them that have Frozen (silver) Frames, will also transform into Wilds. Frozen Frames and Golden Frames become locked in place until they turn Wild.
And to re-iterate, Wilds will only show up during the Winter Wild round.
PROGRESSION METER:
Following on from the above – each time that a Snow Scatter lands, it’ll add 1 point to the meter that you’ll see above the grid. That meter is divided into 3 segments:
Milestone 1: This is achieved at 50 points and the Mirror feature is activated
Milestone 2: This is achieved at 100 points and the Mirror feature is activated
Milestone 3: This is achieved at 150 points and the Bonus game multiplier is upgraded
The multipliers upgrade in this order: 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 7x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 30x, 40x, 50x, 60x, 80x, 100x.
MIRROR FEATURE:
You’ll initiate this feature when you reach Milestone 1 or 2 in the Progression Meter. The Frozen and Golden Frames on reels 1 and 2 are now mirrored in corresponding positions on the right-hand side of the grid.
On the flip side, Frozen and Golden Frames on reels 3 and 4 are mirrored on the left.
CHEST FEATURE:
Now we get to this bad boy. You’ll see Chest symbols on reel 5 during the base game and when one lands, it’ll award either a Progression or Frozen Frame.
Progression Award: 3 to 6 points are added to the Progression Meter
Frozen Frame Award: 2 to 4 Frozen Frames will take up random positions on the grid
BONUS GAME:
To get into this feature, you’ll need 3 Bonus symbols to land on reels 2 to 4 during the base game. A gift will appear (yeah, for real – it’s a pink box tied up with ribbons) and you’ll be given 9 to 18 clicks.

PERSISTENT STATE:
The Bonus Game multiplier, Progression Meter, and the positions that the Frozen and Golden Frames are on, are linked to a specific bet (each bet is saved separately).

Despite how intricate this game is, I still didn’t experience any technical issues during testing – and that applies to the various devices and browsers I used.

The €200,000 top prize is enough to thaw the most cynical heart – even mine! The max multiplier is only 5,000x so you’ll need to throw some money at the problem if you’re chasing that 200k.

Conclusion
I usually complain when games go all Scrooge McDuck on me with the features, and this one certainly doesn’t fall into that category. In fact, it might take a bit of time to get to grips with if you’re new-ish to the world of online slots.
