Winter Star Bonus Buy Slot Review
Thailand is a magical place, or so I’m told. You get a lot for your money – sometimes more than you expect. 🇹🇭
For instance, you could be treated to a ping pong exhibition when you were just chilling at a club, having a beer or three. You could also enjoy the company of a lady who should’ve been nicknamed Tripod. 🏓
These are the unexpected revelations that could make or ruin your experience. Winter Star Bonus Buy slot from Evoplay delivers the unexpected on one hand, yet takes away with the other. 🎉🥹
Gameplay
Whenever I see a game that’s devoid of any design elements, it makes me think: either this game is going to be filled to the gills with awesomeness or it’s going to be utter shite. Which will Winter Star Bonus Buy slot be?
A quick glance at the vital info tells us part of the story. There are 20 paylines, an RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. of 96.04%, and a high volatility rate. The max multiplier is decent, at 6,016x, but the top payout is a sucky $180,480. So, strike one against.
I quite like how the game looks, despite the lack of design work; it’s easy on the eye, and the bold and large symbols mean that this is a game you’d be happy to take on the road with you. If you’re okay with playing in landscape mode, that is (portrait ain’t the best experience).
The high-paying symbols are fruit – namely the strawberry, plum, pear, and blueberry. The Wild replaces all symbols other than Scatters.
There are two Scatters in Winter Star Bonus Buy slot; one is the Winter Star, and the other is a Bell. I’ll chat about both in the section below.
Features
WINTER STAR:
The Winter Star is the Scatter and it appears on reels 2 to 4 during the base game. Landing 3 to 9 Winter Stars in any position for an instant prize – you’ll see these listed in the meter to the left of the grid.
FREE SPINS:
Bell Scatters trigger the Free Spins round when you land 3 of em in the base game. These symbols will only grace reels 1, 3, and 5, and landing additional Bells during Free Spins re-triggers the spins as per your decisions below.
When the round starts, you’ll be given a choice between 3 options.
- Option 1: 16 spins with a low volatility rate
- Option 2: 12 spins and medium volatility rate
- Option 3: 8 spins with a high volatility rate
You’ll also notice that depending on your option, the Winter Star meter will display different multipliers for each number of Scatters you now land.
BUY BONUS:
This is where players with no patience (like me) can go. Pay 37x your bet – which is super cheap – and choose your Free Spin options as you would if you’d triggered the round organically.
Performance
I played hundreds of rounds on Winter Star Bonus Buy slot, and it generally didn’t set a foot wrong. Once, after a win, everything froze, and I had to reboot the game, but that was the only time I experienced something like this.
Maximum Win
A payout of $180,480 on a highly-volatile game isn’t great. Typically, we’d be looking at $200k to $250k, so you’ll need to decide if this is a dealbreaker.
The largest multiplier on offer is 6,016x, and betting ranges from $0.10 to $20.
Conclusion
Winter Star Bonus Buy slot was better than I expected in some regards, and worse in others.
I thought it would be a featureless fruity, but I was surprised to find instant cash prizes, a Free Spin round with choices, and a very cheap Buy Bonus. On the flip side, there’s the (now seemingly ubiquitous) top payout/volatility rate mismatch.
But if the latter doesn’t bother you too much, then Winter Star Bonus Buy slot isn’t the worst place to spend your time and money.
