Wolf Strike Slot Review
Wolves and nuggets aren’t your typical combination, but that’s precisely what you’ll find on Wolf Strike slot from 1x2 Gaming.
When my mind’s not scraping the bottom of the gutter, it’s thinking of food. So naturally, when I played this game and saw nuggets floating around on the reels, I thought of those compacted bits of chicken rather than the native gold they were meant to represent.
And then I went down a rabbit hole and discovered that chicken nuggets were invented in a laboratory! Ugh. I can just imagine these dudes in white coats mashing chicken bits together in a beaker while cackling.
And then I read this quote, which I’ll leave right here: “Industry leaders realized that real profit would not so much come from producing more chickens, but by doing more to chicken. Hence further processing.” Dear lord. Let’s move on to Wolf Strike slot stat, please.
Gameplay
Wowsers, this one ain’t easy on the eye. I’ve been reviewing some stunning-looking games of late, so Wolf Strike slot is probably more jarring because of this.
Not only does the game look like it stepped out of the Eighties, but the controls have also been disappointingly crafted. They’re small and look like they’ve been slapped onto some gray rectangular things and that design language doesn’t match up with the rest of the game.
When viewed on a phone, the controls look a lot better. They’ve now been arranged into a different configuration but sadly, the rest of it looks awful in portrait mode. Here, you’ll see just the sky and water around the tiny grid.
Luckily, landscape mode comes to the rescue as it mirrors the desktop view – except for the controls, which have been borrowed from portrait mode. So at least there’s that.
Coming back to the desktop version, if you wanna set your Autoplay to how you like it, break out those reading glasses. Everything is tiny and difficult to see. I’m saying this as someone who rocks a 4k, 27” screen so just imagine changing these settings on your mobile device.
Wolf Strike slot is played on a traditional 5x3-reel grid and it’s clearly Jackpot-oriented. The good news is that while it might look bleh, the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. is 96.11% and the max win is a shocking €255,000. I say “shocking” because this is a low-volatility game, so that’s quite unexpected.
Unfortunately, crypto players won’t be able to indulge as this is fiat-only play.
Features
WILDS:
These will appear on reels 1 to 5 during the base game, as well as during Free Spins. Wilds will replace all paying symbols.
If a Wild lands with 2 Nuggets on the reel, the wolf Wild will expand and collect any Golden Nuggets prize. However, if the Hold & Win round begins, the Wild will expand without collecting Golden Nugget prizes.
SCATTERS:
These can show up on any of the reels and 3 Scatters award 8 Free Spins, 4 awards 12, and 5 Scatters gives you 20 Free Spins.
Scatters, which take the form of a slash mark, transform into Golden Nuggets during the Free Spins round.
FREE SPINS:
During this round, 3 additional Scatters will get you an extra 4 Free Spins, 4 Scatters award 6 more Free Spins, while 5 Scatters during the round will gift you 10 more Free Spins.
PS: The Hold & Win features can be awarded during the Free Spins round.
GOLDEN AND STRIKE NUGGETS:
Land 6 or more Golden or Strike Nuggets (the latter have paw marks on em) and you’ll kick off the Hold & Win round. As far as the Jackpots go:
3 Strike Nuggets = the Mini Jackpot
4 Strike Nuggets = the Minor Jackpot
5 Strike Nuggets = the Major Jackpot
HOLD & WIN:
You’ll be awarded 3 Free Spins when the fun begins. During this round, the 6 Nuggets will become sticky and the open positions will keep spinning. Land any additional Nuggets in these open spots and they’ll also stick and reset the Spins to 3.
If you manage to fill all the positions with Nuggets, the winning amount will be doubled.
Performance
Clearly, I’m not a fan of the game’s design but I couldn’t fault the gameplay. I tested it exhaustively on my phone and desktop and not one single issue cropped up.
Maximum Win
Place a bet at the maximum limit of €50 and land that big ol’ 5,100x multiplier, and you’ll have yourself a windfall worth €255,000!
Conclusion
Wolf Strike slot is a strange animal. It looks like it escaped from a bygone era and its features are fairly commonplace. However, combining low volatility with more than a quarter mil in prize money is something you don’t see too often.
The game doesn’t stand out from the crowd but is that reason enough to dismiss it? From a player’s perspective, it’s a feasible game. For us reviewers who live on a heady mix of sarcasm and nitpicking, it’s nothing to write home about.
But you can make money on this game and that’s the thing that carries the most weight.
