Odin’s Got Nothing on the Zeus Ze Zecond Slot
Zeus is basically the universe’s most powerful middle-aged man with impulse control issues and a thunderbolt instead of a sports car. King of the gods, ruler of the skies, and somehow still finding time to disguise himself as livestock to hit on mortals, he’s less “noble deity” and more “HR department’s worst nightmare.”
While Thor and Odin have all the limelight when it comes to comic book adaptations, Hacksaw is trying to do the same for Zeus with its new Zeus Ze Zecond slot.
Blessings from the gods
The Zeus Ze Zecond slot from Hacksaw Gaming features 19 paylines across six reels. If you are betting at the $15 maximum stake, the slot gives you a shot at up to $300,000 in winnings thanks to the 20,000x max multiplier. Wagering does, however, start at just $0.10 per spin.
With medium volatility, you can expect a balance between smaller, more frequent wins and the occasional higher-value payouts. The game’s theoretical RTP is 96.26%.
Wonder symbols may appear on the reels during any spin. When they do, they’ll reveal either high-value symbols, wild symbols, or a Wonder Reel. These symbols can land on any reel except the leftmost during base game play.
If a Wonder symbol reveal produces a winning combination, a respin is triggered. All revealed symbols revert to their Wonder state and remain fixed in place for the respin.
A Wonder Reel forms when multiple Wonder symbols land on the same reel. These positions spin to reveal Coins, Diamonds, Clovers, or Pots of Olympus symbols. Bronze Coins, Silver Coins, Gold Coins, and Diamonds display values ranging from 0.2x–4x, 5x–20x, 25x–100x, and 150x–500x your bet, respectively.
After this reveal, Green Clovers multiply all adjacent Coins, Diamonds, or existing Pots of Olympus by between x2 and x20, while Gold Clovers apply the same multiplier range to all such symbols on the grid.
Pots of Olympus symbols activate after the Clover symbol mechanic is complete. They collect the values of every Coin, Diamond, and other Pot of Olympus symbol on the reels and store the combined total. Once this collection occurs, all other symbols on the Wonder Reels spin again while the Pot remains in place, repeating the process. Once all reveals are complete, the combined value of all winning amounts is paid out, and the Wonder Reels disappear before the next spin.
Landing three scatter symbols in the base game triggers the Gates of Hades Bonus Game, awarding eight free spins. During this round, the standard mechanics remain active, but all Wonder symbols that land stay fixed for the entire feature. In addition, the minimum Coin value increases to 1x your stake.
Landing four scatters activates the Godly Ascension Bonus Game, which also begins with eight free spins. A Wonder Meter appears outside the reels, increasing by one step each time a Wonder symbol lands. When the meter reaches 25 symbols, a reward spin is triggered at the end of the current spin. During this reward spin, every reel position becomes a Wonder Reel that can reveal only Coins, Diamonds, Clovers, or Pots of Olympus.
On the first reward spin, all Coin types, including Diamonds, may appear. With each subsequent reward spin, the minimum Coin tier increases by one level up to Diamond, removing lower-value Coin types from the pool. The minimum Coin value in this feature is 1x. After each reward spin resolves, the reels reset, the new minimum Coin tier applies to any future reward spins, and the Wonder Meter returns to zero for the possibility of refilling.
Hitting five scatters unlocks the Zeus Unleashed Hidden Epic Bonus, which also awards eight free spins. This feature functions similarly to Gates of Hades, but reels two through five begin completely filled with Wonder symbols. Low-value symbols do not appear during this round, and the minimum Coin value rises to 5x your stake.
The slot’s Buy Bonus feature allows you to purchase any of the slot’s free spins rounds except the Zeus Unleashed Hidden Epic Bonus.
Is the Zeus Ze Zecond slot a worthy sequel?
The Zeus Ze Zecond slot is a sequel to Hacksaw’s 2024 Ze Zeus slot. While the two games share features, they are quite distinct. In terms of the feature set, the major difference is that while Ze Zeus offers cascading reels that remove symbols involved in winning combinations and allow new symbols to fall into the empty spots, the Zeus Ze Zecond slot strips that mechanic away. The two slots’ basic look and feel are also very different, with the first leaning into a traditional Greek mythology style and Zeus Ze Zecond employing comic book-style illustration and animation.
At the end of the day, while the slot is solid, I am not really sure that the Zeus Ze Zecond slot brings anything new to the genre. As Hacksaw slots go, this one is not my favourite. I give it a seven out of ten.
If you’re looking for a few Hacksaw slots that I do recommend, try 2 Wild 2 Die or Immortal Desire.
