Beauty and the Beast Slot Review
Yes! Beauty and the Beast takes us back to the glory days of the 90s where Disney was Disney and fashion was baggy and colourful, I’m going to stop there because I can go on and on about it. This Disney adaptation slot game is stunning and brilliantly executed. Experience the beauty and charm of this incredible game.
Gameplay
Beauty and the Beast is a 5x3 reel, 20 payline video slot powered by Yggdrasil software. Symbols include (in order of increasing pay value) 6 different coloured Gem Stones, Bell and the Beast who become the Princess and Prince in the free spins mode and are the highest paying symbols. Special symbols are the paid Rose Scatter that triggers the Free Spins Feature and the Mirror Wild. There are 3 Servant Random Bonus Features namely the Chef, the Butler and the Maid servants each with their own special feature that are triggered at random during the base game and also play a role in the Free Spins Feature. There is also a Golden Bet Feature. More detail will be given in the features section.
The game controls at the bottom of the screen from left to right are: a Plus Icon that expands to the Information button with the Pay Table, Game Settings button, Game History button, Game Rules button and Sound button. Next is the Ways Window, adjustable Coin Value window, Cash Bet window, Max Bet button, Spin button, Autoplay button, Win window and Balance Window.
Features
Typical of Yggdrasil games, Beauty and the Beast is loaded with features, namely the Mirror Wild, paid Rose Scatter, Bonus Servants and the Golden Bet Feature.
The Mirror Wild substitutes for symbols except for the paid Rose Scatter, in forming a potential winning combination.
The paid Rose Scatter, when landing 3 or more anywhere on the reels triggers the Free Spins Feature. Before the Free Spins Feature begins you get to select 1 or 2 bonus features via the 3 servants either the Chef, Butler or Maid characters. If you land 3 or more Rose Scatters during the feature the number of spins remaining will reset to 10 and you get to choose another Servant Bonus Feature whilst still retaining the initial one you selected. If you then land 3 more Rose Scatters you will then have all 3 Servant Bonus Features in play and spins reset to 10 again. After this point no further free spin features will land on the reels. You will notice that during the base game the rose in the Rose symbol is faded but during the Free Spins Feature it is in full bloom. Only landing 4 or 5 Rose Scatters have a paid coin value attached to them of 1000 and 5000 coins respectively.
The 3 Servant Random Bonus Features are triggered in the base game at random and also participate in the Free Spins Feature as mentioned above. They have the following effects:
The Maid character replaces between 2 and 4 symbols in random positions of the reels.
The Butler character nudges a reel up or down by 1 position to give you the best possible winning combination.
The Chef character synchronises the three middle reels for potential epic wins.
Unique Features
Highroller players will love the Golden Bet Feature but if you are willing to part with some extra cash that you may have laying around then you can spend it on this feature as well. The Golden Bet Feature can be accessed at any point during the game next to the big spin button in gold. When activating this feature you have 3 options to add to your gameplay:
Boost: spend 5 coins more on your bet per spin allowing you to increase you wins during the free spins feature.
Nudge: for an extra 15 coins per spin triggers the free spins bonus more often. It will also randomly nudge a Rose Scatter into view if it just missed landing on the reels and award you with free spins.
Boost & Nudge: costs 30 extra coins per bet for both of the above on every spin.
Performance
Beauty and the Beast seems extremely complicated at first but once you read the brief summary of all the features in the beginning of the game it becomes quite understandable. The game is visually stunning and highly detailed in its graphics and the quality of animation is breathtaking. All the features have been carefully thought out incorporating almost every aspect of the famous Disney story. Conclusion
Nothing quite puts a spring in your step than being reminded or experiencing something from your childhood again. Except for having a to share a bath with your sibling, no one wants to be reminded of that (even though that just reminded you of it, my bad). Beauty and the Beast is absolutely flawless and exquisite in every way and the best part is that you can land some huge payouts. It’s definitely the game that deserves to be on the top of your list of games to play. The only disappointment is that I turned out looking more like the Beast than the Beauty in my adulthood.
