Mega Cash Stacks Slot Review

Humans have been bartering for millenia, so there’s been some form of trade for a very long time. But it wasn’t until about 5,000 years ago that the people of Mesopotamia (also the birthplace of modern agriculture) invented shekel – widely considered to be the first form of currency.

So coins have been around for a while, but paper money? That’s a different story.

Paper money in the USA dates back to around 1690, and was represented by bills of credit and IOUs. New currencies were then introduced in 1861, to help finance the Civil War.

After that, things kind of stayed the same for a while. And then in 2008 we were introduced to the latest form of currency – crypto – then in the form of Bitcoin only.

And if one thing is clear from Yggdrasil’s latest Mega Cash Stacks slot, we’re still obsessed with all things moolah related (and I don’t see that changing any time soon).

Gameplay

Mega Cash Stacks slot is a 5-reel, 25-payline game from Yggdrasil. As far as the theme goes, this one is pretty on the nose – I mean, I think online casinos and I think money, so this slot is basically spot on.

The graphics are quite old school though, with red and gold as the main colors you’ll see. The symbols are made up of various currencies, plus the four card suits thrown into the mix.

It looks pretty good on a mobile device, especially in portrait mode. The reels adapt when used in this way, which makes for seamless gameplay.

The stats here are quite decent too – starting with the 96% RTP and medium-high volatility rate. Betting ranges from €0.20 to €100, and landing the 2,250x multiplier with the bet set to max will trigger the top €225,000 payout.

I do have some bad news though. Mega Cash Stacks slot only accepts fiat currency, so crypto players have been hung out to dry.

Features

WILD

The Wild substitutes for all symbols except the Bonus.

PROGRESSIVE FREE SPINS

Landing 3 or more Bonus symbols will trigger the Progressive Free Spins round. At the start of this feature you’ll need to spin a wheel to determine the number of spins that you get.

Progressive Free Spins mean that the payout of each spin will always be larger than the previous one, leading to some very generous win potential.

GAMBLE

The Gamble feature can be set to gamble 5x your stake, by clicking the button to the left of the reels. Any winnings equal to or above 5x your stake will trigger the Gamble round, during which you can win cash or Progressive Free Spins.

Once the round starts, you’ll be shown two stacks of coins. The left gives you the chance to double or triple your winnings, while the right can trigger the Free Spins.

Select either stack to choose your preferred option, and gamble your winnings. If the pointer at the bottom of the screen lands on the yellow section, you’ve won! But if it lands in the red section, you’ll forfeit your winnings.

BUY BONUS

Use the Buy A Bonus feature to pay 100x your bet and immediately activate the Progressive Free Spins feature.

Performance

I threw hundreds of spins at Mega Cash Stacks slot, on both my desktop and mobile devices. Luckily, it worked like a dream, sailing through my test rounds with ease.

Oh, and it’s good to go on the browser of your choice.

Maximum Win

I think €225,000 is a very generous maximum win for a medium-high volatility rate slot. Set your bet to €100 and land the 2,250x multiplier to score this payout.

Conclusion

While Mega Cash Stacks slot looks quite basic on the surface, it actually has a lot to offer. The Progressive Free Spins round is particularly exciting – it’s not a feature I’ve really encountered often.

Sometimes simple gameplay can be deceptive, and such is the case with this game. Factor in that generous maximum payout, and we’ve got ourselves a winner ladies and gents.
