The Pendragon Legend Slot Review

Love triangles aren’t a new thing. Back in the day, there was Helen of Troy, Menelaus, and Paris. And, of course, Hollywood has seen its fair share of relationships made up of three parts.

For example, there was Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and Eddie Fischer. But possibly more scandalous was what happened when Brad Pitt, who was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time, met Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. 🍿🎬🎥

Folklore tells us that things also got hot and heavy in the court of King Arthur Pendragon. The word around the campfire is that Queen Guinevere had a thing going for one of Arthur’s knights, Sir Lancelot. 🏰

And who could blame her? With a name that would suit a male, adult industry performer, the knight was probably extremely gifted and had pierced many… a heart. 💗

This is The Pendragon Legend slot from Mascot.

Gameplay

Our 5x3-reel grid is floating in the throne room of a castle – not the round table or the sword-in-the-stone type of setting I was expecting but hey, it is what it is.

What was a pleasant surprise though, was the soundtrack. It’s all flutes and lilting vocals and it didn’t make me scramble to hit MUTE in a nanosecond.

The grid and symbols are bold and impressive-looking, which makes The Pendragon Legend slot an absolute beauty to behold on a phone – in landscape mode at least.

It’s still totally playable in portrait mode, but there’s too much background for my taste. What isn’t a problem is navigating the controls in any orientation. They’re clear and easy to select.

OK, so it looks and sounds good but does it have any substance? Errr, Houston, we have a problem. There’s nothing wrong with the 20 paylines, and that there are no currency limitations, but that’s kinda where the good stuff ends.

The** RTP is 95.12%, and the volatility rate is medium** but despite this, the top prize is a measly €50,000 and the max multiplier is an anemic 1,250x.

The Wild symbol replaces all symbols other than Scatters. Any wins formed with a Wild have a 2x multiplier applied to them. If multiple Wilds are involved in a win, that 2x multiplier is only applied once.

Scatter wins are paid when 3 or more Scatters land. Hitting 3, 4, or 5 Scatters triggers the Click Me feature, which is really Free Spins with a twist.

Features

CLICK ME / FREE SPINS:

When this round starts, you’ll see the same grid, just with the symbols greyed out and treasure chests dotted around. You get to choose one of those and it will reveal how many spins and what multiplier you’ve won. The most you can clinch is 30 spins and a 5x multiplier.

During Free Spins, landing a new Scatter will award an extra spin but there are no payouts for Scatters landing in combination.

RISK ‘N’ BUY:

After each win, you’ll have the opportunity to risk what you made in exchange for (hopefully) nailing a win multiplier. If you decide to go ahead, you’ll see a Wheel of Fortune made up of 3 concentric circles.

There are multipliers and arrows on display – hit the arrow and you go to the next, smaller circle for increasingly better rewards. The inner-most circle awards a multiplier of 1,000x.

The Buy part is where you can get better offers if you wanna buy Free Spins, and there’s always a random special offer available.

BUY BONUS:

Choice is the name of the game and you have 4 options to choose from here:

  • Option 1: 158x your bet gets you the Special Offer of 15 spins and a 5x multiplier
  • Option 2: 87x your bet gets you 20 spins and a 2x multiplier
  • Option 3: 95x your bet gets you 15 spins and a 3x multiplier
  • Option 4: 110x your bet gets you 10 spins and a 5x multiplier

Performance

Performance on The Pendragon Legend slot was stellar, thanks to the fact that Mascot uses HTML5 technology.

Maximum Win

Yeah, so like I said earlier, this is where The Pendragon Legend slot drops the ball. A €50,000 prize from a 1,250x max multiplier isn’t great for a medium-volatility game.

Betting starts at €0.20 and is capped at €40.

Conclusion

The Pendragon Legend slot will suit players who are really into gambling. After all, a gamble option within a slot must mean you’re pretty dedicated to your craft. I enjoyed taking a risk regularly and of course, there’s always the option to back out. If you’re a coward. 😂

The other element I appreciated was the option to buy 20 spins and a 2x multiplier for 87x, or 15 spins and a 3x multiplier for less than 100x, which is what most games charge and you sometimes get a fraction of the spins.

Then there’s the wonderful mobile experience. But all of this doesn’t rinse out the sour taste in my mouth, courtesy of the volatility rate / top prize mismatch. That put me off.

But maybe it’s not a big concern for you and you’re not a gambler who is too bothered about chasing top prizes. In that case, you should check it out. If you’re a high-roller, then I’d suggest moving on to greener pastures.
