Aztec Magic slot review

The Aztecs gave us chocolate. That surely is enough for you to try this video slot by BGaming!
They also enjoyed human sacrifice and cannibalism, but really people – think of the chocolate!!! Must I even bother to write a review?
Apparently, the higher-ups say some of you may not be convinced by chocolate alone, so here goes…
BGaming's video slot, Aztec Magic brings an ancient civilization to life. On my bucket list is “visiting Aztec temples” (with nearby beach resorts!). I can't quite cross it off after playing Aztec Magic, but it's helped keep the dream alive and renewed my will to see the real things. Immediately after starting, the air around you feels crisper and cleaner. You feel a little bit more alive and a lot less constrained by everyday worries. The stunning mountains and Aztec marvels are wonderous. So, grab a slab of chocolate and get ready!

Gameplay

The idea to make the 5 reels and 15 paylines transparent is a winner, because, they blend in beautifully with the background and vivid atmosphere. There are nine symbols in Aztec Magic – the first four are your standard face card letters together with the number 10. These are of the lowest value in the collection. A little more exciting and potentially profitable are the final five symbols which are three different stone seals, a priestess (scatter) and warrior (wild).
The controls are neatly set out and easy to use. From the left : Line Count, Max Bet, Spin, Auto Spins and Bet Value. The Auto Spin can be set to stop on either any win or a win exceeding a specified amount.
Up top are your "Provably Fair" details (I'll chat about that a bit later, I promise), Mute and General Game Settings which include the advanced Auto Spin options I mentioned.

Features

The wild symbol of the Aztec warrior stands in for all symbols except the scatter. Winnings are multiplied by 3 if one of the symbols in a payline has been substituted by a wild. But it doesn't stop there – 2 wilds = 40X, 3 wilds= 200x, 4 wilds = 800 times and you better sit down for the last one. Are you ready: 5 wilds get you 5000x!
The priestess is the scatter symbol and 3 or more of this beauty in any position gets you 10 free spins. Wins with 3,4 or 5 scatters get wins multiplied 5x, 20x or 100x respectively.
The gambling option comes up after each winning spin. It's purely voluntary, but its a lot of fun and can be really profitable if you're on a roll. Basically what you've just won becomes your stake and you need to choose card color and type (ie-clubs/spades/hearts or diamonds). The right color doubles your money, and the correct suit quadruples it. If you win, you can carry on pressing your luck up to 5 times. Anytime you lose, your gamble round is over.

Unique Features

Being a BGaming game, Aztec Magic is Provably Fair. For the uninitiated, a Provably Fair game is one in which a randomising algorythim. The user check for fairness once the results of a round are published. I hope that more games adopt this innovative design.

Performance

The graphics are solid, and even the fonts fit the theme. The music is mystical and eerie but strangely pleasant. The performance of the game is pure magic.

Conclusion

Aztec Magic is a spectacle, and apart from the incredible winning opportunities, you get to be an Aztec for a day. I did it with loads of chocolate and no human flesh, but it's your choice. So not quite the authentic experience, but definitely a riveting one. Enjoy!
