Highway Stars Slot Review
My car once broke down in the middle of Arizona with nothing but a haze of heat insight. After walking a few miles in the soaring temperature I came across civilization – well, I'm using that term loosely. It was a gas station and bar. Parked outside were dozens of colossal Harley Davidsons. I stumbled into the bar and might as well have been an alien from Mars because EVERYTHING STOPPED. I swear it was like the movies: someone must have even pulled the plug on the jukebox because there was just dead silence. All around me were guys with beards that could touch the floor and woman who could bench-press me.
“Water please” I croaked to the bartender. Then what happened surprised me. (being the cynical sod I am) They all gathered round, expressing concern! After my water, they carried me to a couch. When I awoke, I had one of the best afternoons of my life and made some unlikely friends. Who woulda thought that a biker gang could belt out show tunes like that? What's brought back those memories is a video slot by Belatra Games called Highway Stars. Designed to travel to you P.C, mobile device or tablet, Highway Starts pays tribute to Rock n Roll Bikers. There's a raw intensity to this slot that got my adrenalin to full throttle. It's got an ACDC Highway to Hell flavor and suddenly I felt like buying a motorbike. (As the person with the single worst balance on the planet, I quickly dismissed that idea though)
Highway Stars is a moderately volatile 5 reel and 25 payline slot. The symbols are headlined by a biker and what has to be a female stripper dressed as a cop. (Surely? If not, then please frisk me now officer!) They are joined by a bike, skull, engine, helmet, ring and face card letters. There's also a flaming heart which is the wild and can replace anything except the scatter which is a whiskey bottle. Belatra controls are always solid but seldom mesh into the theme nicely. These are no exception – all on the bottom of the reels: Settings (including Paytable, Gamble options, Autoplay Options), Lines, Credits, Bet, Total Bet, Amount Paid, Max Bet, Start and Autostart. You'll have to cruise down the highway because there's no Turbo Spin.
After each winning spin in regular play you have the chance to gamble your profits on a Risk Game bet which is either 2X for correct card color or 4X for card and suit. If you'd prefer a high card draw against the dealer ,you can change the default in your Game Settings.
3 or more scatters anywhere triggers 10 Free Spins which are re-triggerable up to a maximum of 100! All reels, except reel 3 are stuck together during free spins. Meaning reels 1/2 have matching symbols as do reels 4/5. This is a brilliant feature which greatly increases winning potential.
The biker and the cop/stripper are stacked symbols which add to the excitement. 2 scatters on reels 1-4 can lock those reels in place for the next spin.
While blitzing through all my performance tests, Highway Stars never glitched or lagged once. The graphics and animation are so stylized that I have to believe the artists are bikers themselves. Truly excellent! The music and sound effects pound away adding to the badass vide.
Ever wanted to hit the road with a bunch of like-minded hellraisers? Not particularly? Well, I don't blame you – but now we can get a taste of the fun without the carbon monoxide poisoning. It's pure rip-roaring enjoyment with some great winning opportunities thrown in.
