Retro Trader Review

My own adventures with the stock market were disastrous. Almost every stock I bought lost me more money than I ever made. At one point, I was sure my portfolio was cursed. So now, I stick to gamesšŸŽ°.

The stock market is no place for me—the stakes are too high, the players too big, and the losses too painful. Unlike Retro Trader from BGAMING, where the only thing at risk is your bet, the whole ā€œmarketā€ fits neatly onto a retro pixel-art screenšŸ‘¾.

With simple mechanics and quick rounds, this crash game lets you live out your Wall Street fantasies without the crushing despair of real-life investingšŸ˜“.

Gameplay

This is a crash game with a stock market theme in retro pixel art style. When the game loads, you’ll see a constantly moving stock chart. Under the stock chart are the previous 11 rounds.

Under the chart is the betting area, which has a—and + on either side, where you can set your bet.

To the right is the Down button and an area where you can see how many players bet the stock would go down and their bets; to the left is the Up button and the same display of other players.

The game has 2 rounds. The betting round is about 5 seconds, and then the game round, where the stock moves randomly up or down last, is about 7 seconds. For every 1% the stock moves in the direction you bet, you win 1% of your bet.

For every 1% of the stock moves in the wrong direction, there is a 1% loss. The game has an RTPRTP stands for ā€œReturn to Player.ā€ The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.

This game played great on my Android phone and gaming laptop.

Conclusion

Crash games are still a relatively new form of online gaming, and they come in all kinds of weird and wonderful themes. This is one of the cooler-looking versions.

Unfortunately, the game’s highest win is more than a little disappointing when compared to any game, really, even other low-volatility games, but let's stick to crash games to keep the comparison simple.

Take Kite Festival Crash Game. It offers essentially the same mechanics as this game and a 5,000x max multiplier that can lead to a $250K win off of a $50 bet.

CricX, another multiplayer crash game, offers a 10,000 top multiplier and lets you bet $15 twice, leading to a $300,000 win. Granted, both of the other games are high-volatility, but you don’t have to bet the highest bet to win a decent prize, unlike this game.

PaylinesPaylines are preset lines that run across the reels, and when you land matching symbols on them, that will result in a payout. The more paylines, the more ways you can win, but also the higher your bet per spin.: N/A
Volatility RateSlot games can have low, medium, high, or extremely high volatility rates (or a combination thereof).

The less volatile the game, the more often it should pay out, but the lower the amount, the less the payout, as this is in keeping with the risk you’re taking. Volatility rate should be considered in conjunction with a game’s RTP.
