Jackpot Mines Review
The 90sāwhat a time to be alive! Pop culture was at its peak. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Friends were on the air. Everyone went through that weird phase where everyone thought frosted tips were a good ideaš¤Ø.
Music? Untouchable. Nirvana, Tupac, and even Britney Spearsš¤. It didn't matter what genre you liked; it was all iconic.
And gaming? Forget your fancy open-world epics. We had Minesweeper! A game so simple it came pre-installed on every computer, yet somehow managed to ruin friendships and make you question your intelligenceš.
The 90s were probably the last time humanity got it right. Speaking of Minesweeper, Jackpot Mines from Belatra Games is a modern take on that classic, but this time with cash prizes and a Progressive Jackpot.
Gameplay
Jackpot Mines is an instant game based on the old Minesweeper game popularised by Windows in the 1990s. It features a grid of clickable tiles and hidden bombs dispersed throughout the board.
To the left of the screen, you can set the number of hidden bombs and the size of the field: 3x3, 4x4, or 5x5. The maximum number of bombs on different-sized fields is 6, 12, and 20.
Under that, you set your bet between $0.10 and $250, your current bank balance, and your last win. All currencies are welcome.
Then, you click the Start button, and the round begins. The objective is to reveal Coins on the field without detonating any bombs. This version doesn't offer any help with clues about the number of neighboring mines hidden nearby.
Under the field is a list of multipliers from low to high. These are the prizes you'll receive after finding a Coin. The larger the field and more bombs, the more you win per tile.
At any point in the round, you can choose to collect your current prize or continue. There is a reason to continue, and that's the Jackpot. I'll explain that in a sec.
First, this game has an RTPRTP stands for āReturn to Player.ā The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a gameās volatility rate. of 97% and is rated as high-volatility. The max multiplier is 10,000x, and the max win is capped at $250,000.
Features
PROGRESSIVE JACKPOT
A portion of every bet over a certain threshold (it will differ per currency, I'm sure, but over $0.60 for me) contributes to the Jackpot displayed above the field and makes you eligible to win the Jackpot.
However, the Jackpot is only awarded once it reaches or surpasses the $200 mark. When that happens, during any round, you can reveal a Coin with a diamond on it, the Jackpot symbol.
The tile that reveals the Jackpot symbol turns into a mini reel that can land on a Coin, bomb, or Jackpot symbol.
The Coin will pay a value, the bomb blows up the field and ends the round, and the Jackpot symbol wins you the current Jackpot. How sick is that?
Performance
I tested this game on all my devices, and it played without issue.
Maximum Win
The lowest you can bet per round is $0.10, and the highest is $250. The max win is $250,000 if you hit the game's 10,000x max multiplier while playing with the biggest bet.
Conclusion
This is a light game. It does away with any heavy design or features so that it won't eat up bandwidth or data, and it's very compatible with mobile devices. So feel free to try Uncover Jackpots on the go or on the couch.
The game is deceivingly simple, but you can employ some strategies to help you win. Although it is harder without the numbers like in the actual Minesweeper, remember that the bigger the field, the more bombs, and the more you win per tile.
The Jackpot is nice and all, but it hung around $33 the whole time I was on it. That will probably change when more players find this game and play it.
If you like this game, Belatra Games has another Minesweeper-inspired game based on their Game of the Year, Mummyland Treasures slot: Mummy's Mines instant game. Although it's not a light game, it's still very fun.
