Lucky Drink

Lucky Drink Slot Review

Plenty of slot games carry odd and unusual names, but Lucky Drink certainly represents one of the most bemusing. Sending you down to the local pub, Lucky Drink doesn’t offer much in the looks department, with its devil-driven and alcohol-fuelled design being crude to say the very least.

Calling it how we see it, the theme of Lucky Drink isn’t going to light a fire under many players. But, as we all know, looks alone don’t make for a great slots game. So, is Lucky Drink a better game than it appears on the surface? Is it worth pulling up a stool and knocking back the pints in this Belatra Games release? Honestly, aside from the extreme jackpot hunters, for most players this game will probably be one to miss.

Gameplay

Lucky Drink throws you into a pretty familiar setting, as you take your seat in the pub with a pint in hand. That’s probably where atmosphere begins and ends with Lucky Drink, as the gameplay here is snooze-inducing. Featuring 5 reels and 9 paylines, not even the max bet of 225 coins is able to inject some life into the base game, as Lucky Drink is rudimentary at best. The only real positive of such a boring base game is the simple controls, so it’s easy to get up and running in Lucky Drink.

The base-game might not be entertaining, but at least the paytable delivers a fair helping of cash and coins to make up for it. Given what we had already seen of Lucky Drink, the seven-figure payout of 1,500,000 coins for 5 beer barrels had us feeling woozy that’s for sure. The other payouts in the game – when playing with a max bet – aren’t anything to turn your nose up at either, ranging between 5,000 coins and 30,000 coins for a 5-symbol combination.

Features

There is only one place to start with the special features in Lucky Drink and that’s with the buxom blonde barmaid. Not only do 5 blonde barmaids grab you 375,000 coins, but this symbol also functions as the game’s wild, so expect it to substitute for other symbols in the game. The devil represents the scatter in Lucky Drink, so expect it bring you a “bevvy” of extras through two separate bonus games. Both of these rounds are simplistic pick and win offerings, but simplicity is what we expected, so Lucky Drink didn’t exactly catch us off guard here.

Whenever you secure a win in Lucky Drink you’ll be able to head into the gamble round at your own discretion. You’re able to opt for one of two gamble rounds, but no guesses are needed for how either works. The first is a simple high-card wins game, while the second is your usual red-or-black affair. Again, these gamble rounds aren’t particularly creative, but it’s a case of “better than nothing” when it comes to Lucky Drink.

Max Win

Lucky Drink doesn’t exactly have a huge amount going for it, but for how bland the rest of the game might be, it’s an absolute powerhouse when it comes to payouts. Not only is the base-game paytable stacked to the hilt with coins, the max win of 1,500,000 coins is nothing short of impressive.

Performance

We understand the Belatra Games aren’t exactly known for creating flashy looking slot games, but even so, Lucky Drink looks pretty brutal. The graphics look out of the 1990s and not in a good way, as every inch of this game feels dated. From top to bottom the graphics appear roughly designed and poorly animated, with the blocky text not helping matters either. Thankfully, this game’s sequel – Lucky Drink in Egypt – is a much better looking game, but that doesn’t really help Lucky Drink players all that much and probably just highlights how poorly it performs.

Conclusion

Popping down the pub for a quick pint should be a fun experience, but Lucky Drink makes it feel more like a chore. If you ignore the payouts – which are pretty stacked in fairness – this game never gets out of first gear, the base game is bland, the design is below par, and the bonus features are as cliché as it gets. If you’re a big-time jackpot hunter Lucky Drink might have something to offer, but for everyone else it’ll be worth bypassing this watering hole and grabbing a pint somewhere else.
