The Wildlife 2 Slot Review
I might have grown up in Southern Africa, but my brushes with wildlife have been mostly brief and panicked. I live in a city, so the only wildlife we tend to have are nasty rodents and diabetes-stricken pigeons. Not the most exciting, but I suppose it’s something. However, don’t get too close to the squirrels - we’re pretty sure they’re running a gang, and they might shank you if you take too long a look.
The Wildlife 2 is a 5-reel, 50-payline video slot powered by software from Belatra Games. Hearing the call of the wild? You’re in luck! Belatra have populated this game with all kinds of animals - animals you’d never see together in nature (bears and lions? What could go wrong?). Symbols include bears, tigers, eagles, guinea fowls, water buffalos, zebras, and royal values from Jack to Ace. The Wild is represented by a lion, the bonus by a photographer, and the Scatter by a white envelope.
Controls are pretty straightforward, however I’m contractually obliged to go over them so you’ll have to grin and bear it. Below the reels you’ll find Menu, Credits, Bet +/-, Win, Auto Start, and Spin.
So, what features can you expect from The Wildlife 2? Wild: Wild substitutes for all symbols except Scatter.
Belatra have gifted us with a particularly nice Free Spins feature, triggered when you land 3 or more Scatters. This will activate 10 free games. During Free Spins, the bonus is active. Simply choose the Scatter envelopes that have the words “order” written on them, and the animal that is revealed to be inside will be wild for the remainder of the round. Should the bonus and animal wild land at the same time, the photographer will do a photoshoot of the animal which will then become sticky until the end of the feature.
The Wildlife 2 also comes with two fantastic gamble features:
Red-or-Black Risk: The gamble feature is a simple way for you to multiply each rounds wins by either x2 or x4. All you have to do is guess whether the card will be red or black. Guess correctly and you win, but get it wrong and you’ll be sent back to the base game empty-handed.
Double Up: Appears after each winning round, and allows you to either double your win or lost it. You’ll have to choose a card, out of four cards, and you’ll win should it be higher than the dealer’s.
The Wildlife 2 really is a lot of fun. The graphics are realistic, the soundtrack will have you itching to go on that safari that you’ve been meaning to book for the last 5 years but just haven’t gotten around to, and it’s available to play on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
The max coin win is a very decent 12,500.
At the end of the day, most of us gamblers just want a slot that has good gameplay and solid wins, right? Luckily The Wildlife 2 has that and so much more. Expect big payouts, fantastic features, and a hell of a good time all round. It’s not one to miss, and definitely one of Belatra’s better slots in recent months.
