Persian Nights Slot Review
You know what the best thing is about all the tales of Aladdin? The friggin magic carpet! I spend about two hours a day in traffic and one would sure come in handy. On top of aiding in the commute, can you imagine the possibilities as a bachelor? No matter how bad your pick up lines are, I reckon they succeed if you have a magic carpet. I mean Jasmine probably didn't even like Aladdin, but hey – the dudes got a magic carpet! Don't even get me started on the genie! I mean cmon, Aladdin really was playing with a stacked deck! Persian Nights is a Belatra Games video slot that works on P.C's, mobile devices and tablets. Whilst not featuring Aladdin, this game definitely heralds from the same collection of stories. I wouldn't say that it made me feel like I was part of those myths and legends, but it did however set the scene well. It's kinda corny but appealing (coincidentally what women said about me!).
Persian Nights has 5 reels and 50 paylines, making it a low volatility slot. Worth mentioning is the fact that the outer reels have one less space for symbols then the inner 3 reels. The symbols include: a genies lamp, princess, mean looking sultan, a jewel, lioness, shoes, 9-King card icons and a city scatter logo. The genie's lamp is the wild and can substitute for anything except the scatter. The setup isn't the prettiest to look at but does an excellent job of keeping the player in control. Along the bottom are Game Settings (including Paytable Info) Lines, Credits, Bet, Total Bet, Win Amount, Max Bet, Start and Autostart. I didn't miss a Turbospin, but I would have liked some more advanced settings in Autoplay.
3 or more scatters activates 12 Free Spins which are re-triggerable up to a maximum of 300! There's a part of these Free Spins that is both enjoyable and disturbing at the same time: When a reel is covered with lamps, they stick in place for the next spin (enjoyable) by transforming into a scantily clad Chippendale lookalike genie (disturbing). Now I know how heterosexual women must feel when playing the slew of games out there with bikini girls. I kept on looking over my shoulder, hoping nobody was passing my desk! After each spin in regular play, a Gamble option is offered in which you can choose a 2x bet on card color or a 4x bet on card color and suit. If you would prefer a simple high card draw, you can change the default in Game Settings.
Persian Nights needs Flash to be enabled in your browser. After that's done, its smooth sailing and this slot performed well on all 3 tests I put it through. The graphics are good, if not ground-breaking. (Animations of the princess and sultan's eyes add a nice touch.) The sound effects and music compliment the theme nicely.
There coulda been a magic carpet!! But, despite that missed opportunity, I really enjoyed Persian Nights. The Free Spins were frequent and lucrative, although I won't be playing it in public again because of the half-clothed genie! So, if you're ready for “a whole new world”, then take this charming slot for a spin.
