A Beginners Guide to Baccarat Winnings

A Beginners Guide to Baccarat Winnings

Baccarat is not amongst the most popular and well known games on offer. Like many other games, Baccarat is often ignored for the simple reason that the player is unfamiliar with the rules of the game and how it works. Because of this, BitStarz has you covered, so here are some of the things you may want to keep in mind upon entering the world of Baccarat and making it your own.

Learn the Card Values

To be honest, you don’t need to be an expert or even know the rules to get started, although it obviously helps. As a player in this game, you have no actual interaction with the game besides placing your bets. There are simply three options for you to bet on – Banker, Player or Tie.

Face cards and 10s are worth 0. All other cards are worth their face value, while the ace is worth 1. The number of the game is 9. If the cards drawn add up to more than 9, 10 is removed from the total. For example, if a player draws two 9s, the total value is only 8.

You can’t go bust in Baccarat, like in Blackjack, but you can only have a maximum of 3 cards to get as close to 9 as possible, which is what you are looking for.

A Quick Rule Guide

We know the rules seem very complicated and yes they are. However, as you don’t really need to know them all, there’s nothing to worry about. Let’s have a quick look at them, as we recommend you at least read through them with one eye open.

Player Draw Rules

If the player hand draws a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10, another card is drawn (unless the banker hand is “natural). If the player hand draws a 6 or 7, the hand stands and another card won’t be drawn. A hand with an 8 or 9 is called a natural and is the ideal hand, no further cards will be drawn by the player or banker. The worst result with a natural hand is a tie.

Banker Draw Rules

This is where it gets a bit complicated, but once again, don’t worry. If the Banker’s first hand is worth 3 and the player draws a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10, the Banker draws. If the player’s third card is a 1, 8, 9 or 10, the Banker stands on his 4.

If the banker’s first hand is worth 5 and the play’s third card is worth 4, 5, 6 or 7, the Banker draws. However, if the players draws a 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 or 10, the Banker stands. If the banker’s first hand is a 6 and the player draws a 6 or 7, the Banker draws. The Banker will stand if the player draws a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 or 10. The Banker will stand on a 7 no matter what the player draws. Finally, if the Banker’s first two cards are an 8 or 9, the player can’t draw another card.

We did warn you, but once again, you don’t really need to learn all these complicated numbers to enjoy this popular game.

Figure out a Strategy…

One of the more useful and popular betting systems, is the Martingale system. This is where players double their bets in the hope of recovering and winning back their original bet. In the game of Baccarat, thanks to the limited number of outcomes, it makes for an excellent game in which to use this strategy.

… and Stick to It!

When you have opted for a strategy (see above), you should stick to it no matter what obstacles you may encounter. It is easy to get frustrated if you start to suffer losses and get tempted to boost your bet in order to recoup any losses. When you are using a betting strategy, you should know that there will be losing sessions. Accept the facts and stick to the rules of the strategy in order to be successful.

Keep an Eye on the Odds

This may seem obvious to most of you, but you would be surprised to know how many players join the table without knowing the odds for the various bets. Even if you have a grip on these things, you may want to double check when you sit down at the table.

On bets placed in the Banker usually carries a commission of 5% that is deducted. The odds on a Player normally stands at 1:1, and while the Tie bet is the most lucrative with an 8:1 payout, it is often recommended to stay away from.
